    [Asus RT-AX88U] Experiences & Discussion

Not a waste either considering other factors already stated.

    Thoughts from RT-AX88U users?

Yeah but I suspect it'll probably be £400-450 in the UK.

    Thoughts from RT-AX88U users?

Well I had a TP-Link router and it seemed problematic at times and I didn't like the way TP-Link generally didn't provide an update to the routers firmware for over the last 2 years, which perhaps I was being over cautious about but when I look at security/performance fixes in other companies...

Akamai: "UPnProxy: Blackhat Proxies via NAT Injections"

I tend to disable UPnP any way, not sure I've had any issues with not having it enabled yet.

    Thoughts from RT-AX88U users?

I've been looking at 8 port with 802.3ad routers for a while but decided to hold off for a little while, then the AX88U was announced and considering it's spec and the fact it was about as future proof as it is possible to get it seemed like the right choice to replace an older TP-Link router.

    [Asus RT-AX88U] Experiences & Discussion

I've not even got 160MHz enabled as I've nothing that would support it, although 20/40/80 MHz option is enabled I don't believe anything is on 80MHz either.

    [Asus RT-AX88U] Experiences & Discussion

I've still not had any noticeable issues after 13 days 8 hours 32 minute(s) 31 seconds during which the router has received 337 GB and transmitted 13.58 GB of external data.

    [Asus RT-AX88U] Experiences & Discussion

Well the £299 price was split 4 ways in this house, so £75 each isn't that bad and I had intended on getting a high end router with 8 Ports, 802.3ad, etc so it was the right pick to replace an older less secure and less manageable TP-Link router.

    [Asus RT-AX88U] Experiences & Discussion

I got mine today, so far no issues except having to update the Intel driver on a Laptop otherwise it can't see the Wifi at all.

    TP-LINK AC3150 Wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit Router Reviewed

I just got this router and it has been stable so far, it replaced a flaking ASUS RT-AC87U although I did get the V1 version which doesn't include Link Aggregation which appears in the V2.

    RT-AC87u (Latest firmware issues)

Ironically I was about to post something about certain web pages seemingly always causing my AC87u to restart.

ASUS RT-AC87U performance since last review?

Well I'm currently at 82 days, it'll be the last day before a reset but it is due to me deciding to try the latest release firmware out today 3.0.0.4.378.9529

    RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9529

    Battery drain issue solved?
  16. E

ASUS RT-AC87U performance since last review?

The odd minor issue still exists but mine has now been running for 74 days without a reboot, during that time it has done around 320+ GB of internet traffic a month and even more from my NAS to assorted devices.

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9460

I suspect for the amount sold it is a tiny amount and not a design fault but more likely poor assembly of things like heat sinks and paste which would effect any chip not just Quantenna, the problems with Quantenna chips are more to do with over promising and not fulfilling the promises promptly...

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9460

Then it is faulty, it isn't a requirement of the router in its normal working operation.

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9460

Personally I've never understood people getting so concerned about the temperature of the AC87U or any modern router.

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9460

I have until very recently hit the 87U with every new firmware but it hasn't always worked out well so I'm looking for quite a few changes before I do a load because besides adding in issues you tend to have to do a clean reboot every time which is a PITA. I know they don't include every fix...
