    Since I never have to reboot my 87U beyond the extra ports it wouldn't be worth it, well perhaps if my IPTV would work it would be but since ASUS isn't sure why it isn't working on my 87 I doubt it working on the 88 for me either :p

    I think the tendency for people to end up bitching and whining is quite common and then those same people jump from one router that is just getting stable to one that will undoubtedly be more prone to issues ;) I do like the look of this router but then I already have a 87u so not sure there is...

    Having been advised to try a number of settings the final result has been no change thus they think it might be a internal nvram fault, just wondering if a person with more knowledge than me on such an issue thinks that is plausible?

    Well afaik Black Friday is about great deals, even if they had it ready it is unlikely to be cheap or be a item that is going to be purchased at any sort of large volume.

    Having plugged in everything I use with my A87 router to the BT Hime Hub it does appear to be some issue with how the A87 deals with the multicast (IPTV) system that means they don't work even with some suggested settings.

    Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with IPTV in the latest official firmware build, I know that BT is particularly fickle when it comes to settings since they in essence really only want you to use their own Home Hub.

    They were never really going to, I suspect it is beyond there capability to add 802.3ad easily to the RT-AC87U and as stated I've no intention of hosing other areas of my router to try out such a feature even with the benefits it brings.

    My sister has a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and it doesn't do to well for some reason with WiFi, I suspect there is some sort of power saving at play although it could just be that I've come to the conclusion over time that Samsung phones should be avoid like rabies.

    Coil noise is most common on Graphics cards, technically it isn't really classed as a fault although if loud enough most companies will replace it.

    I have one that can but I like you say I've no intention of running older firmware, I'll wait until it reappears if it ever does because one would think if it had such a short life it was probably problematic.

    I'm in no rush to get this working between my router and NAS at the moment, I'll wait for now until it appears again.
