    RT-AC87U Media Bridge

Yeah I was thinking along the lines of a BT Home Hub 5 so guess it'll be pot luck in that case.

    RT-AC87U Media Bridge

In media bridge mode will the AC87U only connect to another AC87U or will any router do?

    Asus EA-AC87 Questions

It seems the Netgear EX7000 description is quite a close match to what I want to do, just with the information available I'm not sure about the EA-ac87.

    Asus EA-AC87 Questions

I know it can do a mixture of jobs but I just wanted to clarify a couple of issues. So here would be the possible setup, I would have the Home Hub 5 on a ground floor then put the EA-AC87 on the first floor, so while it would then enable me to connect a number of devices via cable to the EA-AC87...

    [BETA] RT-AC87U 3.0.0.4_378_8715

Personally this beta build didn't go down well with my network environment.

    Need ASUS EA-AC87 but...

I did read a comment some where that DFS channels don't work or something on it at the moment. Update: In fact someone in the other thread also says they don't - http://www.snbforums.com/threads/quiet-release-of-ea-ac87.24865/

    RT-AC3200 Overclocking Benefits

Well partly it is in the nature of techies to do such things, people like to tinker and while it perhaps improves UI performance etc. it probably isn't going to be easily noticeable and the core functions such as wireless performance would probably remain unchanged.

    RT-AC3200 Overclocking Benefits

Personally I wouldn't think you would see much at all in practical terms.

    Asus RT-AC87U recommended firmware?

I use Beta Version 3.0.0.4.378.7410 off the ASUS website, it is the most stable for me in my current environment. You actually have to try them yourself to see which one suits your environment best, for example some people have seen improvements with the latest beta linked on the forums and...

    RT-AC87U - Port Teaming?

I'm interested to know if Link aggregation is ever going to actually be activated since it has been listed in the manual for a long time.

    Asus PCE-AC68 Replacement?

I guess it might get closer once the AC5300 appears.

    Asus PCE-AC68 Replacement?

Any one heard any thing about a replacement or newer version of the adapters that'll support the higher speeds of the ac87 and Ac3200?

Even if they did I couldn't care less.

    [Beta] RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_8248 Unofficial Beta

Yeah it would just vanish at various times requiring re activating.

    [Beta] RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_8248 Unofficial Beta

Personally I went back to the official 7410 beta for now, this beta is just a little bit to unstable for me on the 5Ghz band.

[MOVED POSTS] MU-MIMO still missing on RT-AC87U

What you would actually be hoping for is no one to turn up, that'll be about the only way you'll win.
  17. E

[MOVED POSTS] MU-MIMO still missing on RT-AC87U

To me this seems a completely pointless argument, it'll work eventually but for the moment with practically no clients available and still the majority of devices people currently own parked on 2.4Ghz band I kind of feel it is of very low priority compared to improving stability and useful features.

    [Beta] RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_8248 Unofficial Beta

I would like to answer you but in reality the amount of devices in the house that actually use the 5Ghz band are Nexus 5, iPhone 5s, Panasonic CX700 TV, Samsung Note 3, Dell Laptop a few others like a Roku 3, LG TV and Kindle fire that support 5Ghz don't support DFS so they are on 2.4Ghz with...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_8248 Unofficial Beta

Personally it has made no real difference to me but then I didn't have any real wireless issues other than ones probably related to a large amount of wireless signals (22+) I can detect while in my house.
  20. E

    [Beta] RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_8248 Unofficial Beta

I think the definition of Beta is perhaps getting lost by a lot of people, it is a public test and it'll fix stuff and break stuff.
