    I would say to upgrade to Merlin's firmware and you can do that just the same as you would with stock.

    I would say to put the Asus into AP mode, give it an IP address on the same subnet as the modem and then select not to broadcast the signal on the wireless tabs.

    The assinged IP for the AP should be outside the IP pool so no other device gets given the same IP by the DHCP server, that can cause a conflict and big problems on a network.

    You only need one DHCP server on the network, the main router should be the main DHCP server. Two DHCP servers on the same network can cause problems if not configured properly.

    The problem with the Media Bridge/WDS mode implementation by Asus is that you can only connect to an Open or WEP security enabled wireless signal which today is hardly or never used. Repeater mode is more flexible in that respect but unfortunately not available on the AC66 yet.

    RT-N56 is a totally different beast, Ralink based not Broadcom. I've tested the RT-N56 and the N66U wipes the floor with it regarding wireless range.

    The range of the RT-N16 is no where near the N66U's. Even though it's quiet expensive I'd get a second N66U as the range and speed is superb. Asus's N66U/AC66 outrange most of the consumer High Power routers on the market at the moment.

    Thanks for the latest release. For the first time I've had issues after an upgrade, lost internet access for a while untill I found out that it is now necessary to have the default gateway address fill out on the Advanced_DHCP_Content.asp tab, had it empty up till now, probably a DNSmasq thing...

    Once the RT-N66U is in bridge mode what IP address do you use to access it?
