    I did a hard reset lights never came on also all my settings were still there but merlin had vanished I then press the reset button on the router and that boughtback my led So guess all good

    So when i did this My router came back as normal i think merlin went But all my settings still there? I also did a hard reset and my led lights never came back on but the router is still working

    Main router is currently rt ax86us Someone is selling the rt ax 86u for 90 pounds which is cheap I want to create a mesh network (might wire backhaul in future) Or shall i buy rt ax86u pro? I have 1gb internet at home But coverage is bad

    Ok thanks colin I dont use that to setup but i use the asus router app on my Phone to setup

    and just like that i will have new stock firmware? I wont have to fiddle with ip addresses and static ip address or go in to amend something Wil i set the asus router up like a new router then? Through the asus app?

    Thanks You have scared me about the malware Also what do you think if the options i have mentioned I cannot put them near the lan cables as it will look odd the way the tv is plus i dont like putting routers near my childrens bedroom or living room
