    Last response I got from Asus is that the "..information has been documented and forwarded to the appropriate contacts for further review and improvement." From my experience, and it is limited, only Asus and Apple provide long term firmware updates. I hope Asus fix this problem soon.

    I did. I was tempted by the TP-Link Archer C7, because it's cheaper and was well reviewed here. However, Tim Higgins found that it does not play well with Broadcom clients, and one of my machines uses that. Thanks again for your input, I think I will get the Asus.
