I noticed that there is version 2 hardware of this router. It uses Qualcomm QCA9880-BR4A chip. The only info I could find about this is here:

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wdr7500

Does anyone have experience with this new version? Does it work better with Broadcom clients?

This router is now down to $100, so it's by far the cheapest AC1750 router on the market. If the Broadcom compatibility issue is solved, this is a great buy.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. Does version 2 work better with Broadcom clients? that was the biggest problem with version 1.

C7 Version 2 anyone?

Thanks for the info. Does version 2 work better with Broadcom clients? that was the biggest problem with version 1.

Has anyone had experience of using with this updated version 2 and Apple (broadcom) clients?

TP Link forums have a string of complaints about the Version 1 but nothing about the Version 2 - so is "silence really golden" in this case?
