[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Wow! I thought I was going crazy or something! Yes, the same exact thing happens to me as well. I just thought it was the firmware itself but its the darn Asus Router android app! I never put 2 and 2 together. I just watched it happen live. I logged into my router and checked my...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

On the Dec firmware, I've had to reboot my main router several times because the web GUI stopped functioning. I've been logging in everyday to look at the time sync issue and the system logs. Whats odd is that when this happens I still have connectivity on the network and devices are still able...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

That's correct Arthur. I am in the Central Time Zone with DST settings of 2nd Sunday of March and 2nd Sunday of November. I can't make it a full 24 hours without the main router resetting the time and time zone.

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Thanks for the new beta version Asus! Unfortunately, the time zone on my device is still continuously changing. I'll set it to Central standard (-6 gmt) and the time will be correct. Not even an hour later, I look back on the administration tab and the time zone is back to Guadalajara, Mexico...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Arthur. I sent an email to router_feedback@asus.com with a syslog of my AiMesh Main router. Hopefully it can provide some good information. I've changed the MAC addresses in the log to show the type of device for the MAC and I've also changed any IPs to show the device as well. I'm still just...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

I must be misunderstanding something. Aren't those comments ALL related to the Main to Node connections? I'm wanting to connect OTHER devices, ie. an LAN port on a computer or a lan port on a TV to the NODE switch ports...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Thanks Trial but that wasn't what I was asking. Is anyone using the switches on the AiMesh NODEs to connect to other devices (not the main AiMEsh router)?

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Thanks! How about using the switches on the node units while connecting the WAN ports for ethernet backhaul? Is that OK? I haven't tried to use the switches on the routers while connecting via WiFi yet. Anyone doing this successfully? WiFi only is still stable so far!

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Are you saying the main AiMesh router cannot be used as a directly connected ISP router? Rather, it has to be used in AP mode? The other Asus router I was previously using was an RT-N66U with Merlin's latest fw. I'd much rather have the new (to me) AC68U plugged directly into my ISP modem as its...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Thanks for the clarification Arthur. I have not seen any issues either last night or this morning after removing ethernet backhaul from the equation and only using WiFi to connect the main router with the node. Streams were running in both locations and I did not have any problems. So...with...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Hi Arthur. I'm not sure what you mean by "Could you tell me how to fix the issue as Node add?' I've been testing this evening with only 2 routers. 1 main and 1 node unit. I too have successfully connected the node unit while the main unit was using a different subnet so that functionality...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Trial - Can you comment on my issues several posts above #548? Which routers are you using? How are yours configured? MAC addresses, eth backhaul, etc?

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

I only spent $40 ea for 3 - T-Mobile AC1900s that I converted to be full Asus AC68Us. The closest thing available now that would allow me to make advanced setting changes like a different network subnet, port forwarding, etc. is the Netgear Orbi (which actually isn't even mesh) for $350. I'm...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Hey Stephen, Yes, unfortunately its just not stable enough for production use. I commend Asus for providing this beta firmware and am confident that they will get it stable **hopefully** in the near future. But at this point, I only have one AC68U in use. And yes I understand that is what a...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Well I finally have these routers talking to one another. Unfortunately, like several others users, I too am experiencing continuous dropped wifi connections while connected to any of the 3 routers, either the main or the 2 aimesh satellites. Note that I have the satellites connected via...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Thanks Arthur. Yes, I have that printed out and was following it to the letter. Unfortunately, the main router node still cannot see either of the node units after clicking search. Can you confirm whether the AiMesh functionality works if you have configured a totally different LAN network on...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Ok. I understand that. As I've said, ALL 3 nodes were set to defaults before I even started the process. I connected one as the main Aimesh Router and configured its WiFi settings. I then connected to the 2nd node and chose 'Aimesh Node' in its gui setup. I returned to the main router gui and...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Hello Arthur. I'm not sure what you mean. Not only have I reset all 3 devices to defaults with the reset button, I have also cleared NVRAM using the WPS button. I don't think they can be any more default than they already are. I didn't understand your response regarding AP vs Router mode. Did...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Well I hope someone can shed some light on my configuration issue... I have 3 - AC68U all flashed with 9.0.0.4.382_18489-gd8cc2aa and NVRAM reset. I have tried multiple times connecting 2 of the units as nodes in an aimesh network. I tried resetting the main node to defaults and then adding...
