Anyone experiencing speed slowdowns with the latest 12/16 firmware? I have my desktop hardwired into my primary router and after a reboot i get my standard 4 ms 900+ Mbps down and 900+ Mbps up.. after a few hours my ping times on the same server start to creep upwards of 30+ ms and my speeds barely break the 600 range... After a reboot everything is back to normal. I don't have QOS running.

What firmware version you used before upgrade to latest 12/16 firmware ? Maybe the issue is under
investigating ...

Was using the previous AiMesh beta firmware for the AC68... Before that I have been using MerlinWRT for years without this issue.
ASUSWrt-Merlin for AC68U is still 380 branch whereas AiMesh beta (and stock) firmware are now on the newer 382 branch ... may have a lot to do with it maybe?

I am also extremely jealous of your speeds, 1 Gbps symmetrical it sounds like?
Don't ever move to Australia and hope to get that unless you are extremely lucky/rich! :)

Good pick up. A manual set up when upgrading to 382 branch would be recommended if wasn’t the case.

Confirmed, this issue is investigating now.

I've seen a few users reporting that CTF no longer works with PPPoE in recent firmware releases, is that related? I asked one user to provide feedback to the router_feedback email address about it.

Yes, we received some user feedback about this issue. its working on it. :)

I have a strange problem.

Currently, I have one master and one node, upgraded to the 12/16 firmware. I can see both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands, but cannot connect to the 2.4 GHz band (no matter what device I use). Strangely, I have a guest network set on 2.4 GHz and that is working perfectly fine. On the prior version of firmware (November), both bands were working properly.

Very strange. Suggestions?

No, I have not. Everything was working perfectly in the Nov firmware.

Anyone else with a similar problem?

Any suggestions for diagnosing the issue?

Could you send the feedback with System Log and WiFi log by Feedback function ?

Administrator - Feedback.

As per @Trial_Master reply, Guest Networks are not supported at this stage on AiMesh, enabling them only sort of works for the "master" Router and doesn't sync/propagate to the Node(s), so maybe having Guest enabled causes all sorts of undesirable side-effects? Just a theory ...

I have some 5ghz issues , sometimes the connection drops and the devices connects to another one and keep switching between 5ghz ( looks like the device is confused about which one it should connect )

On the Dec firmware, I've had to reboot my main router several times because the web GUI stopped functioning. I've been logging in everyday to look at the time sync issue and the system logs. Whats odd is that when this happens I still have connectivity on the network and devices are still able to access the internet. Its just that the Asus web GUI doesn't work.

Although I agree with hot sauce that my devices seem to switch back and forth between my main router and 2 nodes. Its like they can't properly choose between the 3 aimesh devices. Note that this happens even with devices that aren't mobile, ie, an HDTV and a google home device that lives in the kitchen and never moves. Not sure why these 2 devices would ever switch since there is mesh point providing WiFi coverage right next to the TV...

My test rig (4 X AC68U's all in AP Mode) hasn't been seeing any of the Web Gui issues so far, but so many variables ...
Out of interest, when it goes bad next, instead of rebooting try to get in via Telnet or SSH and do a "service restart_httpd" command (without quotes) and see if it comes good?

Your issue of "fixed position" wireless clients that are very close to one AIMesh Node still seemingly "ping-ponging" between more distant Nodes seems more than a bit of a worry!

Would like @arthurlien to respond with his thoughts on this.

Also in the absence of any method to"lock" particular clients to particular APs (as I mused on earlier in the thread) that means we currently have no way to even "get around" this undesirable situation. But of course it IS beta software and no-one should be relying on it for a Production environment (which is why I'm not ... yet, but was really hoping to be soon ... but then I read things like this :D).
