    changing ASUS Authentication Method to https didn't change anything. And I can't change the Cisco to https. Problem still continues after a few minutes when the Asus (in AP mode) is connected to the Cisco.

    Fixed this problem by moving the Synology to the Cisco Internet Router, and started using the ASUS in Access Point Mode instead of Wireless Router Mode. But this raises another problem with my Cisco Router. I will start a different Forum Thread for this.

    Got this finally to work. I removed the attached harddisk, connected it to my laptop and removed all asus software on it. Attached it back to the router. Then reinstalled download master and upgraded it to the latest version. After this, download master worked fine.
