    Yea your probably right. I've tried different ways and the power led doesn't flash. I RMA'd and got another this past Friday.

    The power led isn't flashing. I know I'm doing this correctly but just in case, I unplugged the router, held reset in while plugging power back in and hold till power led starts blinking.

    I did try tftp but the router wouldn't respond to ping, host undeliverable. I submitted a RMA request and should have the new router tomorrow. Figured it didn't hurt to keep trying on the old however I do think its a paperweight. I have two so not dead in the water.

    For my PC I assigned 192.168.50.2 with 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.50.1 I'll double-check DHCP. I can't remember whether I can receive DHCP from the router.

    I tried what you suggested however the router doesn't respond to the ping request. The destination host is unreachable. I did ping -t 192.168.50.1

    I kinda figured there maybe something wrong with the router itself. The recovery finds the router and flashes it but doesn't work. I have two BE98 pro's so I'm not dead in the water.

    I did try this didn't work. I think it is what Merlin said, a hardware issue. The recovery finds the router and flashes it but still doesn't work.

    No lights come on except for the power. I've tried hard resetting, unplugging for the day, restore nothing seems to work.

    Never. I've owned several Asus routers through the years. Not new to flashing Merlin builds. I've used the recovery twice before but not because of Merlin builds but because of Asus. Never bricked one until now.

    So I have a little issue. I installed Merlin beta on Asus be98 pro and it bricked it. I'm not sure what exactly went wrong as I'm not new to installing Merlin's firmware. I tried to recover using firmware restoration, which usually works, but didn't this time.
