LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

No. Just one router. The last of 4 and the only one that worked. I have the latest summary edited in my first post. BTW, please let me know where I said that so I can correct it. It's certainly poor grammar on my part if I did...:) Thanks!

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

What happened to you has no relevance to this conversation. I clipped the rest of your LONG (and odd) post because, again, your premise was incorrect. I reiterate, please read previous posts, get yourself up to speed and then contribute (concisely). You are confused and your posts have no...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

Well, you are touching on a point I've been making. If all the vendors send the RT N66U without requiring direct signature, it is preposterous that ASUS does require it for an 'advanced placement'. BTW, I forgot to mention, ASUS also REQUIRES me to take the faulty item to a FedEX office...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

To be clear, there are different delivery options and by different shippers. FedEx's 'direct signature required' is meant to also prove to the SENDER that you have physically received the item. Although, there is a 'crime' dimension to it, it is primarily used by senders as part of the process...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

YES. You have a product with a critical flaw. You should also insist on getting a brand new replacement and not a re-manufactured one since the product flaw was there from the start.

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

That is incorrect. ASUS sends items normally if they were standard RMA (customer returns the unit, and is left without one, and THEN ASUS send them a replacement). In my case, it was 'advanced placement' (ASUS sends a unit and THEN customer returns theirs), which under their customer...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

UPDATE: The new RT N66U wireless router I received from ASUS, albeit with considerable trouble and inconvenience, works and does not exhibit the same severe problem the previous three new ones did, where minor wiggling of the ethernet cables caused RT N66U disconnects. The latest unit behaves...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

Totally agree! The topic is about a serious problem with the recent ASUS RT N66U's (disconnecting RJ 45 ethernet ports) AND ASUS mishandling of replacement. Meanwhile, as this issue continues with ASUS, I have started warning about this on other relevant fora as well. In this day and age, you...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

Nope I don't want a free router. What I want is manifest in my previous posts. Feel free to read them. I'm not embarrassed at all...Dude...:)

Who says I have options? Please read previous posts. Not sure what this thread has to do with Apple.

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

I have an iMac, and am aware of that issue. It didn't affect mine. However, I've had other issues with my Apple devices during their lifetimes. Apple's response has been universally immaculate. I wish ASUS were like Apple. Although my wishes and your guesses are nice, at the end, here we...

It would've much better if they had call ME!

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

Thanks for the lengthy explanation. However, I do not see what you said has any bearing on this conversation. Yes, various vendors and manufacturers make flawed things every once in a while. I think we all know that. I can also see a networking vendor looking away on tight jacks. But I can't...

What support presence? I don't see anything meaningful on this thread.

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

We have that. That is only for 'Indirect Signature Required' delivery option and even then it is not guaranteed, since as far as I know this is not a sanctioned FedEx form. Regardless, in this particular case, ASUS has sent the item as 'Signature Required'. Thanks for the try though!

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

Considering my experience and enormous inconvenience caused, I don't believe ASUS is taking this seriously at all..

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

Exactly. Needless to say, I want to make sure I get a working RT N66U finally (not successful yet). And of course, I'd like to get it with zero headache (not successful). However, I also want to make sure that the consumer community is aware of this major flaw (somewhat successful) and, not to...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

Actually, I'm not 'determined to think' anything. It's apparent, that as a customer who has purchased their faulty product, ASUS should have ensured a smooth exchange and not allowed this to carry on for so long. Additionally requiring a customer to stay home for a day waiting for an item to...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

Totally disagree. Signature is meant to protect ASUS not the customer. A practice that inconveniences the customer is not meant the 'protect me'. Additionally, according to ASUS, if this were a 'regular RMA' (I send in my device and THEN they send a replacement) signature would not have been...

LOOSE RJ45 jacks: TWO BRAND NEW RT N66U's

True or not that makes zero sense. I have ordered these flawed devices twice from Amazon and no special signature was required. In fact, when any vendor sends me something I don't need a signature. On the rare occasion that a signature is required, it has been through UPS which, upon...
