RT-N66U: Slow wifi caused by 374 firmware

Was the 979 FW version what you were automatically upgraded to during set up? What was the version that came standard on your router? I was only upgraded to the 720 version during set up (one version newer than the 276 that cam already installed). I have no problems with speeds on any of my...

    unsupported NAT-PMP version

I am seeing that "unsupported nat-pmp version 2" message along with the "received packet with own address as source address" preceded by eth1 or eth2. On my network, those two LAN ports have connected a PAP2T VoIP telephone adapter and a device that is used to remotely program a smart...

RT-N66U: Slow wifi caused by 374 firmware

That is my next project. I do have a wireless adapter in my everyday PC that I don't use because I am close enough to the router to use a cable. I may just pull that and try it in the remote computer.

    Log Question - N66U

Any idea what the following in the system log means: "received packet with own address as source address". Update: Been doing a lot of research and can't find any answers. Seems to crop up on several router brands. Can I assume that the four LAN ports on the router are internally designated as...

    Confused: RT-N66W vs Netgear WNDR3400v2

I have a two story, 3100 sqFt house and recently bought the N66U. I upgraded to the 394.720 version during the setup and my signal is excellent everywhere in the house. The power on the Professional tab I left at the default 80mW. The floor plan is pretty open so there aren't a lot of walls to...

RT-N66U: Slow wifi caused by 374 firmware

I believe I have tried just about every security option there is and still the only internet connectivity I can get is when using WEP. Would the fact that I have another Guest Network set up, even though using a different SSID and authentication method and passpharase, somehow be affecting the...

RT-N66U: Slow wifi caused by 374 firmware

I would prefer not to have to flash the router as the stock FW gives me all the flexibility I need at this point. I also don't think it is a router related issue as much as an adapter problem.

RT-N66U: Slow wifi caused by 374 firmware

I'll have to try using just WPA not WPA2 as TKIP + AES is an option.

RT-N66U: Slow wifi caused by 374 firmware

I do have that driver installed for the Netgear adapter so it wouldn't appear to be due to an outdated driver. My WPA2 passphrase is strictly alphanumeric (no spaces nor symbols) but it is 12 characters long. Maybe to test to see if that is the reason I will add a guest network secured with WPA2...

RT-N66U: Slow wifi caused by 374 firmware

I just bought and set up my N66U on January 2nd. When I did the upgrade of the firmware during set up it only upgraded me to the 374.720 version, NOT the .979. I have had no problems with range or speed to date. The only issue I have run into is that I have one computer on another level of the...

System Log - Wireless Log Question

On the Wireless Log tab in the System Log in the stations list, what is the difference between just "associated", "associated authorized" and blank for each device connected?
