    RT-N66U 2.4Ghz drops, but clients can't reconnect

I have the exact same problem.! Approx. a week ago my 2.4GHz started dropping clients and they can't reconnect. I have not done any changes or firmware upgrades and have no other 2.4GHz networks in my area. 5GHz works fine.

    2.4G finally died

Intially, when I bought the RT-AC66U, 2.4G wireless was very unstable. However, after one of the later firmware updates, it actually became more or less stable and has been running OK for the past couple of months. Then, yesterday my 2.4G wireless suddenly stopped working (5G worked fine)...

    Updated to 3.0.0.4.372. Constant problems w/ 2.4G

Glad to see that I am not alone... Having google'd around. I can see that loads of people are having 2.4G problems regardless of the firmware version. This just isn't good enough on a top-of-the-pops router

    Updated to 3.0.0.4.372. Constant problems w/ 2.4G

Sorry to say, but I will have to dig out my old Netgear router until ASUS gets the 2.4G stable. Really hate to do this as the router is really good, but this 2.4G instability is driving me mad...:(

    Updated to 3.0.0.4.372. Constant problems w/ 2.4G

I am having problems with all 2.4G devices (laptops, iPhone, Andriod tablet, etc..). I have tried assigning new SSID to the 2.4G network and deleting/updating profiles on all devices. No luck :( Wireless drivers are up-to-date on all devices where I can check/update them. Devices having...

    Updated to 3.0.0.4.372. Constant problems w/ 2.4G

Should mention that 5G is working very stable. It is only 2.4G that causes problems. Guess I will go back to previous version, or maybe back to my old Netgear router that at least were stable....

    Updated to 3.0.0.4.372. Constant problems w/ 2.4G

No neighbours within reach of a wireless network. I have also tried other channels and even setting it back to auto. Same result :-(

    Updated to 3.0.0.4.372. Constant problems w/ 2.4G

Hi, Anyone else having problems with 2.4G wireless after updating to 3.0.0.4.372? It constantly drops in speed and/or looses connection. Didn't have similar problems with the previous version. My 2.4G settings are default except for using AES WPA-2 and having it fixed on channel 11...

    AC66U Android 2.4GHz connection issues

Did you re-use the SSID's from the WDNR3700 when you changed to the ASUS? If so, delete the current SSID's and set up new ones in the ASUS (ie give them another name) and also assign new encryption keys. I had a similar problem when changing from a WDNR3700 to the ASUS. As strange as it...

    Forwarding just one port

I thought I already tried that combination, but apparently not... Thanks a lot :)

    Forwarding just one port

Hi, How do you forward just one port? In WAN -> Port Forwarding, options are: Port Range Local Port 'Port Range' won't accept just one port (e.g. 44221) and it won't accept the range 44221:44221. It needs a true range like 44221:44222. Setting just 44221 in 'Local Port' gives an...

    Serious 2G WiFi problems

WOW, that actually fixed it. Thanks, I would never have thought of that. You really made my day :)

    Serious 2G WiFi problems

Interesting. I will give that a try and report back.

    Serious 2G WiFi problems

Thank you for your reply. I have tried all of the above, unfortunately without any improvement :( I already used inSSID and there are absolutely no other networks within range (which would have surprised me, considering the distance to my neighbours).

    Serious 2G WiFi problems

Hi Just got this RT-AC66U router. Everything works perfect with wired devices and 5G WiFi. However, all my Windows Laptops, Android and iOS devices have serious WiFi performance problems on 2G WiFi. I have full signal on 2G, but it is EXTREMELY slow and connection often drops! The...

    NETGEAR WNDR3700 Reviewed

I have two notebooks (Acer and Medion) and they both use the 'Intel WiFi 5100AGN'. I have also tried my sons Toshiba notebook (not sure about the client). Result is the same with all 3 notebooks. I also tried all the different 5Ghz channels, but no difference.

    NETGEAR WNDR3700 Reviewed

I am using WPA2-AES, which should be the only good option for an 'n' router. Transmit power is at 100%. It is set at channel 36. I have not tried other channels, so I will give that a go. What useful distances are you experiencing?

    NETGEAR WNDR3700 Reviewed

Hi, Just got me a WNDR3700. Fantastic router, but I am very disappointed with the performance of the 5Ghz band. My router is placed on first floor, and on second floor I am not able to get a usefull signal. We are talking max. 15 feet through a wooden floor.. No problems with 2.4Ghz -...
