RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

I have a small update. I've turned off the OpenVPN server and changed my router's password. I also shut down a computer on my LAN that has active torrents every now and then. I have not seen any spikes and the daily traffic numbers appear to represent actual usage. I'm going to wait a few...

RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

I think I'm experiencing a similar issue. Been going on for a few months now. I may try turning off the OpenVPN server and see if that changes anything. AiCloud - OFF AiProtection - OFF SSH Port Forwarding - OFF OpenVPN server - ON (non-standard port but do see connection attempts) WireGuard...

    Router Speed Test (spdMerlin)

Is the speed test server set to automatic? You may just be hitting a slow test server. Try manually setting a test server and see if the results become more consistent.

388.7 “internet speed” missing from GUI with Wireguard VPN clients

Yes. Setup was Chromebook -> Pixel 8 Pro hotspot -> Verizon -> AX88U Pro via WireGuard. The Internet Speed tab displayed as usual.

388.7 “internet speed” missing from GUI with Wireguard VPN clients

No issues for me connecting to the WireGuard server on my 88U Pro 388.7. I was using a Chromebook and the Android WireGuard app.

Wi-Fi router security after dropping it

Actually, dropping the router will if anything increase the router security as a broken router/no internet connection is the most secure internet. :)

Gigabit Tx/Rx rates yet slow transfer speeds over wifi

I have found that I can get similar speed results to using -P XX by using -w 4M without all the extra results syntax.

    Solved Speed test

I was about to say check to make sure HW acceleration is enabled via the Tools tab but if the router's speed test is doing full speed that would seem to indicate that HW acceleration is enabled. Next I'd be looking at QoS. If it's on turn it off for testing purposes. Make sure Bandwidth...

Gigabit Tx/Rx rates yet slow transfer speeds over wifi

Asuswrt-Merlin firmware installed and then System Log > Wireless Log. If I remember correctly stock Asus firmware has something similar.

    AX86U Power Supply

The amp rating doesn't have to be exact as long as it's => the required amps. Per Asus support you are looking for: RT-AX86U : 19 V with max. 2.37 A current / 19.5 V with max. 2.31 A current The only missing piece of the puzzle is the barrel jack size which I unfortunately can't help with. I'm...

    RT-AX88U Pro Max Wifi Speed

As mentioned, iPerf3 is a good way to test. I've found that I get better results when including the -w 4M option. Another method that might be easier to implement for some is to run an OpenSpeedTest server on one of your LAN devices and test against it. If memory serves me correctly my Pixel...

    Warzone 2.0 Unstable latency HELP

What are your latency values to other servers such as speed test servers? If you can, test nearby speed test servers and far away servers. This will help determine if the issue is with your base ISP connection and also see if your ISP's peering may be part of the issue.

    Asus RT-AX86U Pro Performance

Could you elaborate on what exact issue you are inquiring about? Based on my understanding this is the current status. I could be wrong though. All AC routers except 86U (and one other model that escapes me right now): No hardware acceleration for both regular and WG traffic. AC86U: Hardware...

First thing I would do is check the Tools tab to confirm NAT acceleration is on.

    Asus RT-AC86U problem wyze camera

I was having issues with my Wyze cams disconnecting often. Sometimes they would be fine and other times all sorts of disconnections. Finally narrowed it down to a failing 2.4 GHz radio on my AC86U. They are working wonderfully on my shiny new AX88U Pro. I have the 2.4 GHz in "compatibility...
