RT-AC68U from A2 to E1 - restoring config and trouble

Hi Thanks for clearing this out - I should have told myself, that it wouldn't be a good idea. After starting from scratch GUI is much faster, and the traffic monitor is back :) Thanks for help

RT-AC68U from A2 to E1 - restoring config and trouble

Hi Recently I've got the chance, to "upgrade" my old A2 revision to the newer E1 with higher clock speed. Both routers are on same merlin version, so I just made a backup of config, and restored on new router. So far no problem, however today the GUI didn't respond. After a power cycle GUI was...

    Openvpn with RT-N56UB1

Thanks for the tip [emoji846] But since I've got OpenVPN working with a new router - isn't the problem solved? I only need to access the server during maintenance, elsewhere the server is hosting a administrative system, with http access on port 80. I'm pretty novice here [emoji17] Sent from...

    Openvpn with RT-N56UB1

    Openvpn with RT-N56UB1

Nothing else than a new router seems to work... The RT-N66U and RT-AC68U works perfect, so I guess the N56 was a bad choice. RT-AC68U ordered for the job :)

    Openvpn with RT-N56UB1

The rt-n56u should act server, and clients connects with mac or iOS devices. First I've tried without TLS keys, and doesn't work neither

    Openvpn with RT-N56UB1

Hello Case: I need to access a remote vmware esxi server. I've bought the cheapest Asus router with gbit lan for the job - the RT-N56UB1. I'm a little familiar with openvpn, since I've tried it out, on my home RT-AC68U with Merlin. Did work perfectly first try, using this setup...

    Newbie and statistic

Hi...After some time everything is just fine. It's pretty interesting to monitor traffic by device and app.

    Newbie and statistic

Hi I find the statistic util pretty cool on my AC68U, however it's not monitoring all things like FTP traffic - how come? I have a Raspberry doing a lot of FTP, so I was a little curios to see the traffic. The save location in "other settings" - is't for the statistic, or what exactly? The...

Migrating from one model to another (import settings)

Hi Is't possible to import settings from a RT-N66U to a RT-AC68U - or do I need to do settings again manuel? I know the backup config feature, but is't advisable to use from one model to another. Thanks

Life after RT-N66U -> isp router + Unifi or another Asus device

Got an offer on the high rated RT-AC68U, so I couldn't resist. Problem solved ;)

Life after RT-N66U -> isp router + Unifi or another Asus device

Hi I have 100 Mbit cable, and my old RT-N66U is doing just great - very stable, long range, and 300 Mbit connection speed on 5 Ghz. Since my ISP is upgrading to 500 Mbit and later 1 Gbits, I want better wireless performance - need it or not :D I consider to use the router from my ISP in...

RT-N66U - problem with wired clients and wan dropping

Hi My RT-N66U is getting old, but it has always been very stable - I'm very satisfied with the product value. But recently the router started to cause trouble... About every other day, no clients can access wan, and all wired clients are missing in the client status window. It means that...

Argh of course it's because I'm inside my network - just tested from outside, and there's no access. Sorry about my ignorance :o Thank you - no more worries

How to disable web interface access from wan?

Hi I've discovered, that the web interface of my RT-N66U is open from WAN on port 80. "enable web access from wan" is disabled, so I don't understand why it's still open? Firmware 3.0.0.4.376_3754 Another question - is't recommended to set DoS protection on? Thanks
