    I wasn't aware this was discussed previously. How will passive cooling void the router warranty? Router is only sitting on a platform with a fan, and USB current is far less than an external drive current demand. Nothing has been altered or opened on the router?

    Thanks! I will give that a try. So is the asusddns hostname is registered to a router? And why did I get a two different WAN IP address when I connect the new router (xxx.xxx.xxx.45 or the old old router(xxx.xxx.xxx.25) to the cable modem? Thanks again, Nick

    Ok, I unplugged the new RT-AC87U from the cable modem and plugged in my old RT-N66U and my ip comes up at xxx.xxx.xxx.30 and I get internet access. Then I unplugged the RT-N66U and plugged in the new RT-AC87U and it comes up with xxx.xxx.xxx.45 with internet access. With both modems plugged...

    Installed Merlin 380.64.2 on a new RT-AC87U and can't get the DDNS (asuscomm) to update IP address. Merlin shows that the DDNS is registered. Yet, when I ping or query (nslookup) xxxxx.asuscomm.com I get a different IP address of xx.xxx.xxx.30 and my actual WAN address is xx.xxx.xxx.45. I can...
