amtm amtm 3.1.9 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

Updated, no issues. Nice to see. Was beginning to wonder if this was an abandoned project. Nice to see it's not.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Dirty upgrade from 386.1B5. Seamless upgrade (first the mesh node/58U, then the router). All devices just reconnected and no untoward items in the logs and the radio and processor temps didn't change (47/69C which is where they've been since the end of northern hemisphere summer plus or minus...

    OOOOWwww...my brain...it hurts ;)

    (384.17) Weird AImesh behaviour.

I'm not sure that what you are seeing is due to the wireless check described above. My config is in my signature but I do not see that. I have connection priority set to wired for the mesh node and I only see my roomba in the wireless log (assoc and disassoc I'm sure since while it's connected...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Just be careful tho, those might cause high ping times. /S just in case this is needed here.

    Last ditch effort with AX58 & AX88

A couple of things: First, I'd recommend using the 88U as the router and the 58U as the mesh node. Then, I'd say get off the alfa. If you aren't at a point where you understand what a dirty flash is, best to stay on the final firmware and let the experienced testers evaluate the alfa and...

RT-AC86U no WAN, maybe hit by lightning?

I'm confused. The modem was offline but they reset it and it came back online? Did you get a light on the modem? If you plugged the modem directly to the PC (and took the router out of the loop), did you have WAN access? If not, you aren't online and either the service is out or the modem is...

    [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.18 Beta / 384.13_9 is now available

Dirty flash from .17. No issues. I did the mesh node (AC88U) first using the above link to the beta .trx file. Flashed fine. Unplugged the flash drive from the 86U (since I'm not feeling overly lazy today) and flashed the .18 Beta on it. No issues. Both the 86 and the 88U are up and...

    Merlin and Access Point

You should be able to do what you are attempting. Try: resetting the 68U (long press the reset button on the back), then make sure that your laptop Ethernet is up/on. Once you can get in, then you should be able to set it as an AP.

    AImesh vs. Accesspoint

If he is going to use one for AP OR AIMESH, it can run factory FW. Since he seems pretty content with his 87U and 66U A1 and is upgrading away from the 87U since it's "acting up" he likely won't need to spend the extra hundred bucks on the 86U. If money's no object, he should sell the 86U and...

    AImesh vs. Accesspoint

He already has one 86U, so... My 2 cents is to buy the B2 since it's cheap, and install it as an AP and try mesh out it it's less than ideal. No sense in buying an AX router now unless you have AX clients or a burning need to spend money on them. Especially since you just bought an 86U already.

Email Notifications - Cannot turn off notifications

Ok, I've unwatched the forum, and all threads in the forum. There were some threads that showed up with "email" marked next to them when I viewed the list.

Email Notifications - Cannot turn off notifications

I'm still getting emails from "watched" threads. In "preferences" I turned off automatic watching and get email from watched threads. In watched forums, I checked the box and pulled down the arrow and selected "do not receive email" I've unchecked or deleted every item but when I "view" a...

Email Notifications - Cannot turn off notifications

No, I had it on. I just turned it off. If I still get emails, I'll post that. Funny thing is: I didn't get an email that Colin quoted me nor one that Merlin responded... Thanks for the help.

Email Notifications - Cannot turn off notifications

A very minor gripe I have is that I do not want to get email notifications for someone posting in watched threads but I do regardless. I've turned off those notifications in the forum and in the general account settings but I get them anyway. When I un-watch a thread, they stop, but as soon as...

    Happy birthday to us

Happy Birthday! I'm personally so happy that I found you and this site. I took a rather long and strange journey to find you, from running tomato on my WRT-54G and having it die (I'm pretty sure that it was the power supply that died, not the actual router), and replacing it with (IIRC) a...
