Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.2 Beta is now available for Wifi 7 devices

Do you use the app for access? Use https and should attach the port in the end?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.2 Beta is now available for Wifi 7 devices

Anyone else noticed things going a bit weird at DTS? AX88U was fine (scribe logrotate still worked, VPNs alive and so on), but BE88U needed a reboot to fully work (failing scribe, no VPNs and such). Identical setup, as far as the firmware differences allowed. Skynet, Diversion, Scribe (with UI)...

    amtm amtm 5.0 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu, November 17, 2024

Awesome! Updated remotely and haven't looked at logs and such, but both installed and updated times properly.

    amtm amtm 5.0 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu, November 17, 2024

Great. I only enabled it for fun, and that having the LEDs permanently on is kind of a waste. While permanently off is a shame 😉 So looking forward to new releases, as always.

    amtm amtm 5.0 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu, November 17, 2024

It appears that both automatically turns on/off the LEDs. However, that one that seemed to work decently, due to lack of time to monitor the exact switch time, and not the other made me wonder. But yes, when I checked remotely now both are still at 00:00-00:00. Still, based on what I have seen...

I have configured fixed dynamic LED control to have the LED on during the day. RT-AX88U and RT-BE88U. Right now, AX88U is off, as it should during this time, while BE88U is still on. Guess it lacks full support on BE88U?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.2 Beta is now available for Wifi 7 devices

Great. Flashed my BE88U from the alpha. I expect the differences from the alpha to be close to none, at least in the functionality. Saw that the new stock firmware is out, but I guess they are a bit slower to release the GPL.

    [ 3006.102 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Yeah. And some have been forked and added to AMTM with a new maintainer.

Yeah. Scrolled by that a day. But with what I normally use only Scribe lacks an official fix via AMTM. Or at least I haven't discovered more issues yet.

Thanks! Up and running. I hope it gets integrated into the normal build one day.

Release ASUS RT-BE88U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33921

Oh no. I that just flashed Merlin alpha firmware on it. Oh, well. Time to wait on the Merlin version of it 😉

    [ 3006.102 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Flashed my BE88U. Up and running with a dirty flash with no failures yet. Skynet and Diversion with ScMerlin. Scribe needs a patch or a proper update to work on this generation of firmwares I heard. Will take my time to start over one day, but based on what I see in the logs it does not seem...

Release ASUS RT-BE88U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33921

Well, it stopped after turning off Web history. Could it be a secondary effect? I rather stop Web History than Trend Micro.

Release ASUS RT-BE88U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33921

BWDPI: [BWHIS] Revert process seems to spam the logs. QoS Web History seems to be the cause. Perhaps this killed another process eventually causing my downtime.

Release ASUS RT-BE88U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33921

In my case it has been stable after the reboot. Even the LEDs indicated that everything was fine. Hopefully the logs show some leads. Other than this case, I'm pretty happy. Some polish here and there in software. Like it can claim every device including wired to be connected and using MLO 😜...

Release ASUS RT-BE88U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33921

Came home yesterday. Internet connection was down. Had to reboot to get online. Barely a week up time. I haven't analysed the logs properly yet (collecting them on a local server). Any frequent enough issue for some? I can feel the early software vibe on it 😉

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

Is it always a thing though? Pro would most often hint of additional features non-Pro don't have. Like the VLAN additions and new generation of firmware. And in those cases it may go like half the life time of the original hardware. Unless Pro and non-Pro are meant for different regions already...

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

Might not be an option if built-in VLAN is the feature that is desired.

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

If I were to guess, reserved for Pro and never devices. But more for marketing rather than possibility to do so. But who knows.

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

What I learned from the past... you never know until you know 😉 I bought it and hoping it would come, since it often does on fairly common models. But at the same time thought up a setup that would not force me to give up Merlin, even if BE88U never got it.
