    In my XT8 I have 2 guest ssid, with no intranet access and isolated. Both have normal access to internet.

    XT8 hw1 has received it too, althought it is not listed in support page, and no release notes. And it didn't auto update tonight, I have done a "check for updates" manually.

    Lost device names after last update

    After last update of my XT8 I have lost all device names and icons in GUI. The rest is ok. Any way of recovering them?

    My XT8 works as a standalone router connected to the fiber ONT. No mesh.

    When is XT8 end of life?

    Asus uses to give eol different for each model. And eol doesn't mean end of updates. Mi N55U_D1 has just received a new one, after almost 8 years I bought it. Now I use a XT8 ver1, and I hope its life will be long too.

    It is a powerful and popular AX router. They can't stop releasing firmwares yet. My old N55U_D1 still has updates from time to time, after almost a decade. I imagine routers have any way of "pinging home" (and auto firmware check in latest versions, for example) so ASUS know how many are still...

    My old N55U_D1 still has updates after 11 years https://www.asus.com/supportonly/dsl-n55u_d1/helpdesk_bios/ Most are security fixes, but for about 6 years there were improvements too. I do not understand why some devices are EOL too soon compared to others.

    Bridge with own SSID?

    Perhaps simply yo may set the main router to broadcast more wifi ssids. Most of them hav, for example, ssid for guests. If not, you may try a wifi repeater. Connects to the main wifi, and broadcasts its own one.

    Yes. And I was tempted to buy the ax3, but I think for now I'll stick with the XT8 that I've been using since it was launched. The AX2 was to replace the XT8 and then use it as a WiFi bridge for the NAS. But the experiment did not go well for me. Too cumbersome and once running the performance...

    ZenWiFi AX XT8 - Performance tweaks

    In fact, my XT8 has a buyer (a friend that can't afford a best one). I don't know if give tp-link a try (I do not like their slow update policy). My old ASUS N55U DSL, had 6 years of frecuent updates.

    I have been using a XT8 as a single router (only wifi), with almost no problems (some Samsung phones, but now are ok) and about 25 wifi devices. I think of changing it, but not sure what to buy. Any advice in an Asus router with AX known to have little problems? Thanks.
