Issues upgrading to the GT-BE98 Pro

I know this is meant to be helpful, but I only pursued this because I was led to believe that the Zenwifis would work with the BE98 Pro and I work from home as a physician practicing telemedicine. I’m purchasing new iPhones and iPads next year that will support WiFi 6 and my existing Apple TVs...

Issues upgrading to the GT-BE98 Pro

I was never able to flash the router config file to the new router. I did start it up from scratch but got stalled when it forced me to setup the BE98 with separate SSIDs for each band. For the AX11000 it used Smart Connect to set up all bands with the same SSID, with the 5 GHz-2 band as a...

Issues upgrading to the GT-BE98 Pro

Hello all, I was hoping someone might be able to assist me with this process—any guidance is much appreciated! Please pardon the lengthy setup… I currently have a GT-AX11000 Pro mesh network with five Zenwifi XT9s set up as nodes around my house, using the 5Ghz-2 band as a wireless backhaul. I...

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

Following up on the recent topic, is there any plan to support the ZenWiFi XT9 in the imminent future please?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Buddy I really appreciate your attempts to help—I think there may be a miscommunication somewhere. I’m referring to the brand new GT-6 ROG gaming router two pack that was just released to market a few weeks ago. It shipped with a firmware that was working for me, but when I upgraded it it...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Thanks, unfortunately it’s not available anywhere! The ASUS website shows the initial release as 22333 despite the fact that mine shipped with an earlier version and I was prompted to “upgrade” to the launch version, which obviously makes sense to no one ever. So unless they decide to post that...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Hi @RMerlin any plans to add the new ROG GT6 to your list of supported models in the future? I just purchased a pair, but the “initial” firmware (22233) is a mess when it comes to playing nice with other mesh broadcasters in their Wi-Fi 6 line. I have a GT-AX11000 Pro as my main router, with...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

I just replaced my GT-AX11000 with the GT-AX11000 Pro, to take advantage of the U-NII-4 channels on my wireless mesh. I have four ZenWifi XT8s as nodes. I’m currently running the latest stock firmwares for all products, although I was using RMerlin 386.7_2 previously on my GT-AX11000 because I...

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

They’re not—it’s just that the 386.9 is showing as the most recent release. Scroll down a bit and you’ll see the 388.1 beta 2, which remains the latest release for 388 thus far.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Thanks! Like some others here, upgrading from 386.7_2 broke the Speed Test for me—it’s acting very wonky which was not an issue with the prior release. I’m running this on a GT-AX11000 right now, but have the GT-AX11000 pro on the way this Tuesday so I can take advantage of UNII-4 with my...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Forgive my ignorance, but I see two firmware files in the unzipped folder—one marked “ROG” and the other not. Could someone please explain the difference? Does the ROG version just add the gaming features and are they otherwise identical?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 Beta is available for select models

Has anyone tried to run this on a main router (such as the GT-AX11000) while running nodes on the prior firmware? I have ZenWifi XT8 nodes which Gnuton will eventually provide matching firmware for based on this same architecture, but I’m wondering if my nodes will be compatible with this in the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.8 is now available for specific models

I’m delighted with the performance of the 386.7_2 on my GT-AX11000. This latest release is very tempting, as are the routers it’s designed for—with the exception of the AX88U, the GT-AXE16000 is barely off the mill and is sold out half the time, and there isn’t even a release date for the...

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

I’m running it on four XT8s slaved to a GT-AX11000 running it as well, rock solid for the last 24 hours…

I’d be delighted to, thanks! Except I can’t seem to locate the thread you’re referring to. Do you perchance have a link please?

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

@GNUton I appreciate all your efforts with this. Just making you aware that when running a GT-AX11000 as a main with XT8s as nodes, with the 386.7_2 build (not sure if it’s RMerlin’s or this one), 160 mhz channel width on wireless Backhaul isn’t functioning—even though the AX11000 GUI shows that...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

I’m also unable to maintain my wireless Backhaul on 160 mhz channel width—it drops down to 80 despite what the GUI settings show

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

I’m running a GT-AX11000 on RMerlin’s 386.7_2 with four ZenWifi XT8s on GNUton’s version. When I tried to add an XT8 as a node it failed when wireless backhaul was set on 160 channel width, then added successfully when I dropped it to 80. Then when I changed it back to 160, the GUI says it’s set...

Beta [FORK] [DSL] [TESTERS] GNUton's Alpha/Beta Merlin builds

Anyone else having trouble making the wireless Backhaul 160 mhz? Before the update it was working fine; now when I select 160 it drops down to 80.

Intermittent loss of Wi-Fi since upgrading to 386.7

Funny thing is with my AX11000 and XT8 nodes, when I select specific channel widths, they don’t change to the widths I select—for instance I set my 5gh2 band at 160 and it is still on 20. No clue why…
