HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

Okay folks - I've been doing a ton of research on this - and I think one of my key bottlenecks is that my UL speed is ~10Mbps. That's a bit of an issue when you're trying to support 2Mbps x 11 cameras @ 2~3 Mbps each. Now I know what you're thinking - Are you going to have all 11 live...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

It's very unlikely that I'll return a ton of stuff. I'm more focused on the technical solution.

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

If there was a local option for me to call way out in the middle of nowhere, I'd call them. But there isn't. Therefore, I don't have a choice but to figure it out. Hopefully with some help, I'll be successful.

I'm a tinkerer ... and a fan of Amazon's return policy in case I can't get things to work.

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

@Tech9 - You keep bringing 5GHz in. Why? I don't want anything to do with it. I'm just trying address that if you're saying the CPE210 is EOL, what should I replace it with - knowing that 2.4GHz is the law of the land? I was asking about AX given the performance benefits of AX to the 2.4G...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

@Tech9 - I've said repeatedly that I want 2.4GHz bridges. I've never suggested 5GHz for PtP. I'm asking for tips to see if there's a 802.11ax equivalent of the CPE210 (because you noted that it's EOL).

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

@Tech9 - I just need to focus on 2.4GHz on the bridges. I don't believe the 5GHz will work. I am happy to run Dual Band on the APs though. Any advice on 2.4GHz WiFi6 Bridging that could replicate or improve upon the range of the CPE210?

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

Based on the responses thus far, the 5GHz solution wouldn't likely work given that it's higher frequency translates to a shorter wavelength. With that said, the CPE210 is 802.11n, and I believe there were improvements to 2.4GHz spectrum with 802.11ax / WiFi 6. I don't believe any such...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

A few points of feedback to all of the previous posts: My dislike for Starlink is irrelevant. AT&T Air will work just fine. I already have a massive solar & battery array in the area where this initial unit will be powered. In theory, it could run for approximately 146 days before it would...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

I am pretty sure all of the equipment I'll be using is PoE based. I'll never use Starlink. I ask people to kindly quit referencing it. @NXIL- I didn't pull the aerial or topo because what I explained which links are LOS.

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

@Tech9 - How do I connect the CPE210 to the EAP110? It looks like the CPE210 only has one Ethernet (PoE) input, so I don't see a clear way to connect it to the EAP110. Do they wirelessly mesh? Using my map above, the experiment I'd run would be the Base to point 'D' (255 yards). If the EAP110...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

This is what I am looking for. I can easily resolve the power problem and utilize a PoE injector. It's a bit of an expense, but a very, very easy one to resolve. I'll emphasize, please don't worry about the solar side of things - I got that down pat. I also recognize that this will not be...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

I'm far less worried about the Eufy cameras. They have a satisfaction guarantee and a lifetime warranty. Besides, when I do this experiment, I'll just be buying (1) camera and if it does suck, I'll get my money back and only be out the cost of the AP (which I'd eventually use anyways)...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

I guess I wasn't as clear as I hoped 😆. I was not suggesting to use the omnidirectional antenna to cover the whole property or span 200+ yards. I was suggesting that I could beacon from my "Base Station" AP to another - where the receiving device would be relatively close to where service is...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

Wouldn't it be possible for me to make a mesh which connects to the main AP via LOS and then use an omnidirectional antenna to reach the NLOS areas? Regarding the solar technology, I am very comfortable with it. I am far more worried about the WiFi. I have solar powered equipment everywhere and...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

So I'm trying to create a parts list to at least start testing. To start, I took out a laser rangefinder and confirmed exact distances: NE: 90 yards (Line of Sight / LOS) + 126 yards (Non-Line of Sight / NLOS) ESE: 110 yards (NLOS) SSE: 140 yards (NLOS), 220 yards (NLOS) S: 255 yards (LOS) SW...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

Regarding powering another router or AP, I can do that using a solar portable power generator. Solar in => Generator has built in MPPT and charges a battery => Battery runs low power inverter => powers WiFI equipment. All in all, $600 of equipment, but doable. Does that help?

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

I'm figuring some sort of mesh network will be needed. My concern about repeaters is halving the throughout at each hop. I figure I start off with my "Base Router", run hardline to an outdoor Router, and mesh from there. I just have no realistic idea regarding the Range I can attain using 2.4G...

HELP! Farmer trying to set-up long-range property WiFi

Hello All, I'd like to set up WiFi across my 35 acres of property in order to let me stream media, including live-streaming WiFi-based security cameras. My challenges are that I don't have power across the property - a problem that can be fixed with a lot of hassle (e.g., setting up solar-based...
