    GNP VLANs in AP mode

I'm looking for some clarity. I have 2 ET12 and 1 AX88U Pro (They are all running the firmware which supports GNP). Currently, one ET12 is the main router and the others are AiMesh nodes. I have an IoT VLAN (52) which works fine and propagates via my managed switches etc. I'm planning on adding...

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

Both 86 and 88 pros are the same price right now near me. 😅

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

makes sense. AX88U pro will get the new firmware, has better specs, so an upgrade from the AC86U looking at the specs. I’m thinking maybe this once since it’s much cheaper too paired with a Tplink outdoor ap. Maybe the eap225.

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

Out of curiosity how does the AX88U Pro stack up? It seems to get a bunch of praise here. I’m guessing in a wireless backhaul it would connect over 5, but if I am able to pursue the wired backhaul maybe it could be a good option?

Main vs mesh nodes with different firmware (guest network pro)

So my current setup has 2 ET12s and soon to be returned AXE11000. I’m able to create the guest network using the beta firmware on the ET12. It seems like it works with the VLAN as I can select all the APs when logging in the UI for the guest network. Is the AXE11000 not actually doing anything?

Main vs mesh nodes with different firmware (guest network pro)

I’ve been trying to search but not sure I’m getting the right results. If you have a main router with the newer firmware that includes the guest network pro, and nodes which do not, how does that work? Will the VLAN stuff still work? Or will only the main router broadcast the guest network...

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

So the BE98 pro is like 1100+tax. 2 ET12 are 829+tax. Not sure if the ET12s make sense here

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

i guess I could return the thing. I got it from best buy so should be ok within 30 days. I’d have to find something else to replace it though. Axe16000 you think or is a wifi 7 better in this case. I’m ok spending the money but if you are saying EoL in 2 years then that’s no good.

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

Totally get it. I invested in the ET12's a couple of years ago (hindsight), and I don't want to reset everything right now. I'll probably ride out this set of equipment for the next 4-5 years and then upgrade everything later on. Maybe switch away from Asus as well. Generally I haven't had many...

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

It is 6GHz between the ET12s and 5GHz between the main ET12 and AC86. I ended up getting the AXE11000 since the $250 + tax price difference was a bit more than I could justify. Seems to be working just fine now. But I do need to figure out something for my detached garage. I have an empty...

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

Between the GT-AXE11000 and GT-AXE16000 would you have any thoughts?

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

I believe so. It is the uplink, right? I just did a speed test from my computer which is wired to the office node, and it was getting: 936.38 Down 320.00 Up

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

I'm not sure if it is my setup, but my office gets close to 1Gbps between the 2 ET12 nodes when running a speed test. Maybe the 6Ghz is ok for my situation?

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

    Price wise, the ones I mentioned above: RT-AXE7800 - 299.99 GT-AXE11000 - 399.99 GT-AXE16000- 649.99

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

It is a good question. I can't find them as a single item. They only sell them in Canada from what I can see as a 2 pack.

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

Should have mentioned, also looking at the GT-AXE16000 or GT-AXE11000 as the base station, but might be overkill?

    Looking to replace RT-AC86U

Longtime lurker, so thanks to everyone for the great advice over the years. So my situation is as follows: - 3-story house, with detached garage - Base station is an ET12 (in basement) - 1 ET12 node on the 2nd floor office - 1 RT-AC86U node on the first floor closest to the garage and backyard...
