Hi.
I have pretty much decided on a single bay NAS so one of the above. Which is best value for money? All I can see different between them is the 119 has more memory is that all? It is a bit more expensive but if I can get one for the same money is it better? It says in the qnap literature that the 112 is actually faster. What are peoples experiences? I am hedging towards the 112 as it is newer is this correct? I think I would pay the extra over the 110, is this worth it?
It is just going to be for home, storage of music and photos mainly plus other files. Music accessed by sonos. I'll manually back up using esator port rather than using RAID I think. I think this will work for me. Cost is important - cheaper the better.

Did you consider too the Synology units?

Your backup via eSATA is a fine idea IF, IF, you automate this. RAID is not backup.
