2 mesh networks setup

I have four RT-AX88U routers, router, one connects to router, three router, three connects to router, two router, two connects to router four.

Routers one and three are on the same mesh network and routers two and four are going to be on the same mesh network, but this is proving problematic.

Is there a better solution other than having to rerun cat cables?

Also, with routers two and four I want the Wi-Fi off on router two and only on on router four which is the connected mesh, but the second I turn off the Wi-Fi on router two, router four switches the channel of the 5 GHz network to one that I do not want it on as it’s going to interfere with other wireless devices.

Basically, I’m trying to create two networks that are protected from each other, but I would very much like to keep the network printers working on both networks.

Any ideas?

Draw a network diagram to make it more clear what you want to do:

This is not a valid AiMesh configuration. You can eventually have AiMesh with VLAN separated SSIDs on different nodes, but compatible with 3006 firmware router and nodes are needed.

So am I better off connecting router 1 to router 3, and then creating another network on routers 2 and 4?

I have the Asus 88U on latest merlin, but I see no VLAN options.

Sorry, Asus 88U or AX 88U are not correct model numbers.

Post the correct model for your routers. There is RT-AX88U and RT-AX88U Pro - different hardware devices running different firmware. When you need help you have to provide the correct information. There is no AX 88U and Asus 88U model.

I have the RT-AX88U.

This model is on 3004 firmware and doesn't have user defined VLAN options. Network separation options in AiMesh are limited to Guest Network 1 propagated to nodes. How well it fits your needs and will it work properly - I don't know.
