384.5 DCHP issue in repeater mode

My setup:

WRT32X (Primary) <---------------> RT-AC68U (Repeater)
DD-WRT --------------------------- Merlin 384.5
192.168.254.254 (static) --------- 192.168.254.253 (static)
Functions: DNS, DCHP ------------- Functions: Repeater only

Clients get DHCP address (configured on WRT32X) from: 192.168.254.1 to 252

When WRT32X goes down or connection breaks for any reason RT-AC68U starts assigning 192.168.1.x address to all DCHP clients. As far as I know there is no DHCP deamon running in repeater mode. Why does it assigns different IP range?

Maybe give stock firmware or the fresh 384.6 a try?

I have strange DHCP issues on my repeaters after i reboot my router. I typically have to soft reboot the repeaters or reset the wireless to get them to work and get all of the devices connected to them to reset their wireless and get their reserved dhcp addresses. My wireless has been pretty stable though so i only have to do this when i lose power or upgrade the router.

Check the subnet mask and make sure they are all set to class C subnet masks. That and the ip address determine subnet.

Normally wifi is very good overall and doesn't go down but when it does then issues starts..

Don’t think stock is going to be much different, but worth a try nonetheless.

I’ve never run repeater mode so can’t say for sure, but the other modes (AP, Media Bridge) have been stable in 384.6, it’s it possible to adjust your setup to use other modes instead?
