386.5 (xx-xxx-2022)
- UPDATED: Merged with GPL 386_46065.
- UPDATED: Reverted dnsmasq from 2.86 to 2.85.
- UPDATED: miniupnpd to 2.3.0.

This has my interest.... will keep an eye out for an AX88U variant to try with my Nest/TP-Link/IOT devices.

2x RT-AX86U's running in wired backhaul mode via 2.5GbE Ports with 2x QNAP QSW-1105-5T 5-Port Unmanaged 2.5GbE Switches.

Was on 386.4 (since release), flashed to 386.5 Alpha 1 using the following steps.

  • Flashed AiMesh node waited 2 minutes for client devices to connect to the node.
  • Flashed the main router. Needed to wait a few extra moments for the 5GHz band to come back up.
  • Waited ~20 minutes after the main router had rebooted with new firmware. Rebooted system via AiMesh, System Settings, System Reboot. I did not reboot because of any network issues, this is what prevents them, ime.
  • After an additional 60 + minutes, I performed another System Reboot as above.

    Network stable.

GT-AX11000 is still not available..

Just updated to 385 Alpha1 and working fine, though kernel time difference is still there.

Mine has been doing this since 384 alpha1. When I reboot it always goes to GMT time on and off. Then I press the apply button and it goes back to EST.
Thanks, tested that and seems that synced time for kernel.
Strange that it does not work at startup.

Still see same issues with original Nest cam indoor on AX56u on this alpha....i.e. Regular and repeated offline periods/disconnections.

I'm not sure QOS monitoring is working on AX86U. I was looking at something being streamed and the stats didn't change and the device showed nothing on the graphic traffic flow.

Might be a fluke - will continue to check every so often....I use QOS Adaptive and manually set the upload/download speed with a safe margin.

That's not good news.

Still obviously a stock firmware issue vs. Merlin though. The AX56u is still on the 45 release for stock... and has the same issue. Was hoping the 46 release that other routers were receiving would resolve.....
OK - that's even more interesting then. I see the latest Asus stock for AX56U is 3.0.0.4.386.45934 from back in Nov. 2021 so that may explain why stock still sees an issue.

I've got my AX88Us on the 3.0.0.4.386_46065 stock that dropped mid Jan and it solved the problem.

I'll give it a try when the AX88U ones drop.

He's working on or waiting on GPL for later-AC models? (or are they DQ'd?)
The ASUS 386_46065 stock firmwares for most AC models were just released last week (except for the RT-AC86U, which we are still waiting for). Stay tuned — @RMerlin will get to them when he receives the GPLs from ASUS and his schedule allows.

Check out this PR #805 , if it's merged, we might see huge VPN performance improvements on HND routers running 386.5.

#804 will also bring performance improvements
