AC-3100 Update

Hello. I wanted to update the firmware in my AC-3100 router from 384.18 to 384.19. In Merlin Firmware-Upgrade my router is listed under Mesh. I do not ever recall working from that prompt. I'd rather no damage my router in any way. Is this the menu selection to use?

thanks, all

Yes, that is the way (it is an AiMesh capable router).

Interesting, I had no idea and I do not remember seeing that prompt, thanks.

I tried to update RT-AC3100_384.19_0 and the router went to 10 minutes of 'applying settings'. I got down my spare router expecting the worst however a quick power reset, and I was ok. Still, at .18 however I was grateful it was not damaged.

thanks

To update with the least issues on your RT-AC3100, safely remove any USB devices from the router. Flash the firmware you want to use.

It may be necessary to first reboot the router, and then safely remove any USB devices.

Make sure you have downloaded the correct router firmware and you have unzipped it and verified its hash too before flashing.
