Ac3100 unstable connection

i have the ac3100 with the latest firmware. It is in ap mode as it's taking the Internet from my cable router downstairs. I have new cat 6 cables run. I just recently upgraded from the 50mb to the 130mb plan. My desktop downstairs is hard wired from the cable modem and is consistent at 130ish. I sometimes get that speed on my upstairs ac3100 wireless on my cellphone but all iPads are 30-50ish. I have an android box wired into the asus and sometimes get that speed but goes down to 30-90ish. Even in the 90's I can't watch 480p to higher with out pausing. Also in the asus, under the status the android that's wired to, shows only 100mb. Any help?

I do, but it may not be exactly the same scenario. Brand new ASUS Router AC3100 (in fact I DOA'd the first one). I connect via ADSL2 connection and all goes well, getting 16-19 MBPS (which is right in my area). A min or so later my speeds drop to below 1MBPS and are unworkable. I have made some adjustments to channels and followed some youtube basic instructions, which worked for about a day then the speeds drop out or slow to below 1MBPS. I have confirmed the latest firmware, and my ADSL connection via my other router. The connection is solid, its the wifi. anyone?

I get in excess of 300 / 20 on Spectrum Ultra no problem with my RT-AC3100. Wireless clients don't see quite that much but still are over 100 / 20 using speedtest.net.
