AC3200 - Slow gigabit WAN speed

prdatur

New Around Here
Hello,

I bought a couble of weeks a new ASUS AC3200 router.
I have an gigabit synchron internet connection.

My Problem ist, I only get 500 - 580 mbit download speed. My upload speed is good (between 850 to 950 mbit).

I have installed the latest merlin firmware and I tested it with the original firmware. Same results.
I have told this my provider and they send me a fritzbox and with this I get full speed (also around 900 mbit).

What I recognized with the speedtest:

With asus router: download speed starts at 200 - 400 mbit and get increased with the same speed until ~550 mbit. my upload directly starts at 500 - 600 and increases fast to 800 then slowly to 900.

With the fritzbox: download speed goes really fast to 900 and stucks there for the rest of the test, Upload speed starts at 150 mbit and waits the half of the upload time then jumps to full speed.

Is there anything what I can do with the asus router?

I tested the following to ensure it is the router and not the media converter (fiber 2 ethernet) so connected the asus router WAN to the fritzbox LAN.
Still got the 500 mbit with merlin.
Then I switched to latest original firmware = same 500 mbit
Then I did a factory reset on the original firmware = 900 mbit (i though, ok merlin does something strange)
Then I tested merlin firmware again = directly 500 mbit only
Factory reset on merlin = 500 mbit

And now the strange issue: I switched back to original firmware the second time and did a factory reset and now i also have still 500 mbit.

My line to the provider is not the problem. With the fritzbox i get the 900 mbit everytime I test.

Is there anyone which can help me?
