New Around Here
I've stumbled across a weird problem which I'm not sure of the solution for.
Whenever I use my MacBook Air (connected to either 2.4G or 5G), I get fairly predictable lag spikes.

My ping to the router and to the modem remains low throughout the spikes.
My ping to Google (which is usually around 10-15ms) will spike: 200, 215, 225, and so on until requests time out. I've seen it as high as 3Kms+. It will drop back to normal, but will intermittently do the same thing.

These lag spikes occur on all devices connected to the router, whether over wifi or Ethernet.

The Air doesn't have an Ethernet port and I don't have an adapter available, so I can't test if the same thing occurs over Ethernet.

Any thoughts? I'm at a loss with what to do. I've never had anything as strange as this occur before.

Edit:
Current Firmware: 3.0.0.4.374_4561

Hi,
Is the QOS nabled on th router?

Hi,
Is the QOS nabled on th router?

Nope. QOS is disabled.

edit: It's seeming likely that it might be an issue on the MacBook end of things. I'm using Backblaze for backup, and it would seem that I didn't have throttling enabled. Saturation and such. I've enabled throttling now, so I'll see if my ping remains a bit more stable.

WiFi is a known issue with MPB's . . .

Since 2007 MBP's have been having WiFi problems, mostly no connectivity at all under many different circumstances. In the Apple forums there are many threads, some huge with 100's of thousands of views. I personally have an early 2008 MBP that was working fine until last Fall and then dead as a door nail. Just installed a new router and no joy in getting WiFi. Not getting anything is the area and many times the menu bar icon says "No hardware installed". There are many "fixes" posted, some work for some and for others nothing is working. Apple doesn't seem to be showing any indication that they are aware of any issues. People are told to take your MBP to an Apple store where many have gotten new machines, but no relief of the WiFi issues. Lots of speculation on what the problem is, but nobody has come up with a solution. Especially Apple.

A major problem. I'm seriously surprised that there hasn't been many Class Action Suits filed yet and no mention of it either. In the past that's the first words in issues a fraction as broad and wide spread as this.
