New Around Here
I had been running 384.19 on AC86U for a number of years as I had various problems with updates after that build. I took the leap to upgrade to 386.10 yesterday and it would appear the issues I had with previous updates have gone.

As the VPN section now has the VPN Director to control device VPN rules I am not able to add new devices to any of the VPN I have configured any one else experience this problem or no how workaround it?

I am adding them in VPN Director tab when I click the on apply the entry disappears.
You said you were having problems with previous firmware versions before so perhaps this is part of the same problem. The VPN Director config is stored in /jffs rather than nvram. So perhaps your jffs partition is full or it's become read-only for some reason.

I formated the jffs partition today and now I am able to update devices on VPN director
