I haven't used Web History or Statistics in a long while but they were working several versions ago when I looked.
With kids home all day, I want to see what they are doing. All of these, and Adaptive QOS, has always been enabled.
I tried a reboot... and I tried turning these off/on. Nothing is helping.
Also just tried install of FlexQOS (didnt have any 3rd party QOS or other apps before), still not working.

Traffic Monitor and Classification seem to be working fine.

Fresh Factory Reset at .17 (when I first got the 86U) to .18 to .19, etc... not sure when problem might have started since its been a long time since I looked.

Statistics Is now working...
I turned OFF Parental Controls + clicked 'trash can' button on the Statistics screen... Stats are now showing. Not sure what did it.
Web History still not doing anything

thx!

Maybe more info about the router model and any other relevant information would be helpful for the helpers?

What firmware did you come from before flashing 384.19_0? What steps did you take to troubleshoot this, if any? Was the router reset to factory defaults after flashing the latest firmware (M&M Config in the link in the signature below)?

Updated the first post but here's the skinny...

I haven't used Web History or Statistics in a long while but they were working several versions ago when I looked.

just tried install of FlexQOS (didnt have any 3rd party apps or QOS before), still not working.

Fresh Factory Reset at .17 (when I first got the 86U) to .18 to .19, etc... back when I first got it, these all worked fine but I didnt use it really... just turned in on to "look around"
not sure when problem might have started since its been a long time since I looked. I'm not going to reset to defaults after every flash. That defeats the utility --and after 5+ years on Merlin for AC68U/R/P, never had to do that.

Statistics Is now working... I turned OFF Parental Controls + clicked 'trash can' button on the Statistics screen... Stats are now showing. Not sure what did it.

Web History still not doing anything

thx!

I don't think it matters what has happened for the previous five years. If a reset is needed, it is needed.

Hope that you can solve the last bit as easily too though. :)

@RMerlin ... I assume this is not a bug... do you know a way to kick-start Web History?

I appreciate the help!

Read the Changelog, since you have an RT-AC86U.

Mine quit working also, 86U, runnning .19

Sigh.

@Livin what they are assuming everyone should know is that the web history issue is related to the jffs. The solution for you should be to backup your jffs format it and restore.

@Livin instead of saying "this is a jffs issue" , "look at the changelog" (were supposed to read every fine line).. I read through the damn changelog 20 times looking for something I was missing. Sometimes answering the quick question is just as easy as telling someone to go dig for clues.

It is literally the very first thing noted in the changelog:
384.19 (14-Aug-2020)
- NOTE: Due to flash partitioning changes done by Asus, it is
strongly recommended to make a backup of your JFFS
partition before upgrading the RT-AC86U, and restoring
that backup afterward. If you run into issues,
reformat your JFFS partition and reboot.

And the keywords in that first changelog entry are "RT-AC86U" and "if you run into issues...".

@RMerlin & @ColinTaylor ... even one of the most respected members @L&LD didnt know the answer. The system is a mystery to all but a few like yourselves. The Web History being blank is not obvious that this is a bug or related to JFFS or any change in the system... especially since there are no other signs of any problems. I assumed I was doing something wrong since I was not experienced with many of the features: Web History, Parental Controls, etc -- which I'm now trying to learn.

Thank you all for directing me to reformat JFFS, and reboot... that did start it working.

@Livin, I hinted at the answer in post three and five above. I should include 'read the changelog' in the Troubleshooting 101 Guide (later when I get a chance) that was linked in post three for you above.

My time, as well as everyone else, here is limited to how much I can spend answering questions. Sorry I couldn't answer more fully back then.

Glad you have it sorted out now though. :)
