I think the Tomato firmware now has some sort of ad blocking feature and I was wondering if there is anything similar in the Merlin firmware?
Hmm - looks like I'm going to be busy tomorrow! Thanks very much for this useful info.
Well I've hit a problem. I used EaseUS to format the flash drive to ext2 but I keep getting timeout messages when I try to install AB-Solution (see screenshot).
Oh I see. Fortunately I already have XShell on my computer. Do I just stay at the root command prompt and copy/paste in the installation code?Errr did you not read the second line in the WinSCP console...just below where you entered the command?
Whilst the WinSCP console is a convenient feature, you must unfortunately use a real SSH console via Xshell5/PuTTY etc. for ALL AB-Solution usage, as it formats the screen and waits for INPUT.

Also, lots of pixelserve errors showing in the router log:-
Apr 10 12:11:58 pixelserv[7624]: www.googletagmanager.com _.googletagmanager.com missing
Apr 10 12:11:58 pixelserv[22510]: cert _.googletagmanager.com generated and saved
Seems to be working now, although I can't get the e-mailing stats option to work with my gmail account (access denied).
Still can't get this to work. I've created a new outlook e-mail, put in all the details and it still gets rejected. I presume it's correct to put one's e-mail address as the user name and the port/smtp information as per the examples shown in the ab-solution setup screen? The help screens are pretty good on this. If you have 2FA enabled for gmail (you should), you need to generate an app-specific password and insert it for the password instead of your usual password. Otherwise, you have to allow insecure apps in your gmail settings, which is as bad as it sounds.
I suspect it is what elorimer said. On your gmail account, go to settings, accounts and import menu, in change account settings, select other Google Account settings. In the sign-in & security section, select Connected apps & sites. Turn Allow less secure apps to ON. Best to use a separate gmail account for sending stats because of this setting.Still can't get this to work. I've created a new outlook e-mail, put in all the details and it still gets rejected. No it's not that as I hadn't got the extra security turned on anyway.I suspect it is what elorimer said. Did you try with a real email client, say with Outlook, or even a mobile app to test the setting? No it's not that as I hadn't got the extra security turned on anyway.
