Adaptive QOS worth using?

Hi all,

I am wondering whether this is something worth using on a 80Mbps down and 20Mbps up connection, there is a fair usage of Dropbox in the house that will saturate the upload to around 2.5MBps but usually when you are using a QOS setup it has determental effects on download speed and upload speed even if nothing is happening from what I have used in the past.

Anyone have any experience with this adaptive QOS, I have enabled App Analysis so far to have a look at what is happening with different users but not the QOS as of yet.

I've personally never had either noticeable or good (if it was noticeable) results with QoS on consumer oriented hardware. I have similar downstream as you at 75Mbs, but my upstream is also 75Mbps (Fios) and unless your provider uses some sort of shared topology, you shouldn't be maxing out your downstream too often. My employer has Fios like I do and the only time I can ever fully saturate my connection at home is when I have a VPN connection to the office. The only thing separating us is a central office.

I know what you mean, even when maxing my upload it would seem that watching twitch streams or videos doesn't suffer too much with the wider pipe we all seem to have these days.
