New Around Here
Hi

I'm looking for advise for which ASUS router that can handle a connection from a fiber modem, that right now is 1000/1000 but the ISP will upgrade to 2000/2000 within a few years.

So which ASUS router with minimum 2.5 (or higher) Gbps LAN ports, that Merlin firmware will be available for some years into the future here in the spring of 2025.

Thx

Greetings from Denmark

Greetings from the dark ages.

See the Merlin website for supported routers. See the ASUS product website for router specs.

There is no way to forecast future Merlin support... it's a one man project that could end today.

Well, I DO know I where can find the info of ASUS router, and I ALSO realize that the MERLIN might stop some day, You answer is a NON-answer to my question, don't understand WHY You even did reply.

And If COURSE I'm asking into ASUS ROUTERS that CURRENTLY have MERLIN support and have the hardware that I asked for..

NB.. Have been using MERLIN FIRMWARE for many years fx fisk ASUS router the RT-AC56U that for some time haven't gotten any new version from MELIN - SO I'm Awards that support might end some day...

What's your budget?
Two middle of the pack WiFi 7 router: RT-BE96U and RT-BE88U (this one doesn't have support for 6GHz)
Both are supported by Merlin.

Then do your own purchasing homework and come back with candidate routers available in your market that you would consider further if only Google Search could answer your remaining questions. Someone here familiar with them can then relate specific experience to help you further decide.

FYI there is a specific subforum for asking questions about Asus-Merlin supported routers. You have posted in the Asus-Merlin Addons subfourm. One that discusses various addons to Asus-Merlin. You may want to ask a mod to move your post to the correct subforum.

Check the Asus-Merlin list of supported routers if you haven't done so already. Several of the supported routers have 2.5GB and 10GB WAN/LAN ports. Review them and decide which one fits your needs and budget.
And keep in mind that the Asus-Merlin 3006.102 firmware is only supported on a few routers at this time (RT-BE96U, GT-BE98_PRO, RT-BE86U, RT-BE88U and Gnuton fork supports the GT-BE98/GT-BE2500). There is no time frame on when it will be expanded to support additional 3006.x supported Asus routers.
