New Around Here
Hi,

I have just moved to a new RT-BE88U router (from AX6000) and installed Merlin on it.

Have 2 ZenWifi XT8s and one RT-AC68U I have used on my router (ax6000) old as AiMesh nodes.
The ZenWifis are on 3004.388.8_2-gnuton1 while the RT-AC68U is on latest Merlin.
All 3 nodes are connected with ethernet cables to the new router.

After doing hard reset to the nodes, the router finds them and says they were added successfully.
However, only one ZenWifi XT8 shows actually shows up in the Aimesh list of the router.
The other go through the process but never work.
I have done it multiple times now, multiple power cycles, multiple hard resets etc.

Screenshots attached.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you!

@pashaj, Just an FYI, if you were using the Asus mobile app. The Asus router mobile app isn't officially supported under Asus-Merlin. Try using the web GUI instead if you haven't done so already to see if the AIMesh information is presented properly.

Thanks @bennor. I did try it on through the web interface multiple times, unfortunately no success.

Logged in via SSH to see if I can find the config files, but wasn't successful too.
Only thing I see that could be related is a bunch of DHCP related logs:
Code:
Oct 17 17:35:09 dnsmasq-dhcp[26132]: DHCPACK(br0) 192.168.1.8 04:42:1a:9c:fc:40 ZenWiFi_XT8-FC40
Oct 17 17:35:23 dnsmasq-dhcp[26132]: DHCPREQUEST(br0) 192.168.1.101 78:24:af:7b:11:a8

No idea what do do next.

If you look around you'll see multiple recommendations to use Asus Stock firmware on mesh nodes with Merlin on the Master node. This has always worked for me for AX and Merlin, but I don't have a BE router to test.
