AiCloud/AiDisk - Additional Accounts

I have the AC56U.

Been some time since I have tried the AiDisk and AiCloud feature.

It seems that still...only the Router admin account and password will login to the AiCloud page (name.asuscom.com:444).

I do have additional accounts set under the "Network Place(Samba) Share / Cloud Disk" tab in the web GUI, but even the built in "Family" account will not login, only the router admin. It is not acceptable to give out the router admin account and password.

I want to be able set other users so that I can have friends login and download files. This feature seems kinda pointless without this ability.

Am I missing a setting or something to enable this....or is it like this by design still?

(I won't use FTP, it is too insecure and is too frequently attacked. It also gave slow download speeds for my friends that tried to use it.)

No, for some odd reason, Asus still hasn't implemented multiple user accounts for AiCloud. That seriously limits its usefulness IMHO.

I also just noticed that I can create a share URL. However, I have to add the port number(444) to the generated URL for a remote user to access the download. Not sure if that is a bug or not.

Also, you can make the share link expire in 1 hour, 1 day and so on...but nothing in between that set increments. 1 hr is a bit to short, and 1 day too long. Would like to set if for say 4 hours.

Hi speedingcheetah,

from this what I see the standard Port is 443 / https so you wouldn't need to add a port, and the link is generating fine. Did you change the standard Port to a different Port ?

I don't recall changing the port. I must have if the default is 443. Which makes sense actually cause I have port 443 forwarded to my Win sever box.

The link generator code apparently is not intelligent enough to add the port number should u change it from default. Thats poor planning. Give the users the option to customize the port, but make the rest of the feature set invisible to the change.

well yeah this doesn't work actually. Just tried it with Port 9090 and the link generator still do the link with https (443). So the generating yhe link uses in the script the Port 443 / https and is not checking the actual port of AI Cloud. shouldn't be much code change....
