I used to have 2x RT-AX89Xs in an AiMesh configuration that worked great. Recently I upgraded the main router to a GT-AXE16000. I tried setting up one of the AX89Xs as a node under the AXE16000. It sets up fine, but it gets the same SSID for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. I have tried multiple ways and don't know why its being setup like this.
- Smart Connect is off on the main router. The bands each have separate SSIDs.
- I have tried factory resetting both devices. They are both running up to date firmware.
- I have tried setting up the node with WPS on and off, no change. Neither with setting up from the main router interface, the node interface, or the ASUS Router app.
- I can confirm the 5GHz band from the node is broadcasting the 2.4GHz SSID using Wifi Analyzer, as I see 3 total 2.4GHz networks but only one 5GHz from the main router.
