Asus lost monopoly for AIProtection.
This same functionality is also avaible in tplink routers like Archer C5400.

Depends. So far, this technology is closely tied to Broadcom, I don't think it supports Qualcomm/Atheros/Marvell.

There are also other alternatives available. Norton offers one. There are traces in Asuswrt's source code that seem to indicate that Asus tinkered with Norton's product for a while, before switching to Trend Micro.

And there's always all the homegrown stuff possible. Suricata can provide the IPS/IDS (this is what Synology uses), nDPI can provide the DPI-based QoS classification, etc...
