I'm conservative and only go for major versions. 6.0 is when I next update. Get after it @thelonelycoder
I see what you're doing. You're trying to get in line with Android/IOS release version numbers. Looks like you have some aggressive catching up to do! :p

Calender versioning is also what I looked into. This month would be version 24.11. But it lacks a semantic history.

amtm 5.1 is now available

What's new

  • The disk check dc and LED control lc will try to restart the NTP service should the routers date not sync within reasonable time.
  • Revised suggested smtp ports in em email settings description. Thanks to GitHub user elp3dr0 for reporting.
  • Added (volatile) descriptor to lc LED control option 2. Manually Enable/Disable LEDs now (volatile).
  • Correctly removes entries in either /jffs/scripts/post-mount or services-start when LED scheduler is disabled. Thanks to @Ripshod for reporting this bug.

Strange error not seen before with testing for updates for the first time after applying amtm 5.1 update a few weeks back.

tracert to "raw.githubusercontent.com" has no trouble finding the site every time takes just 9 hops].
ping to "raw.githubusercontent.com" responds within 15ms
tracert to - "jackyaz.io" gets stuck after 8 hops with repeat "Request timed out" messages and ping fails.

Any ideas @thelonelycoder - or anyone else not yet celebrating the end of 2024 😊!

Maybe a temporary routing or network error somewhere around where you live.
Try again in 2025, things will be fresh and unburdened by happenings this year.
Happy new year!

Skynet once in a while blocks github so whitelisting those urls will fix that issue

That‘s what either amtm or Diversion per default generate, all necessary domains for the router and all third party apps to function properly. Skynet then includes those automatically.

What's new

  • Removes obsolete VPNMON-R2 support on request by @Viktor Jaep
  • Fixes correct curl usage when Entware is installed.
  • Removed comment line that was only used for testing.

Reporting an OCD trigger that only affects obsessive-compulsive users with longer router models (e.g. Pro).

The kernel version extends past the red header. It could be brought back in line by eliminating the redundant "ASUS" label at the start of the line. Are any of the supported models NOT ASUS? :)

Right. I wanted to drop it unless there‘s a way to determine if it is an actual ASUS router.
There is not, so consequently ASUS should go as it might be an unsupported illegal Asuswrt-Merlin fork running amtm.

You can't unsee it now.
Worse are the users that have router IP adresses like 192.168.100.1. Too many numbers. If IPv6 ever becomes the primary addressing this will for sure go, if only for security reasons.
