amtm amtm 5.2 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu, February 09, 2025

amtm 5.1.2 is now available

What's new

This one goes out to the one I (...)
  • Removed FW in header in firmware built in version of amtm. The non-firmware version will keep using "legacy" in the header.
  • Some obsessive-compulsive amtm users will be delighted, I'm sure I don't need to point out the other changes ;)

All that’s left to do now is go and wash my hands repeatedly for the rest of my life…
Use some lube. Repeatedly using your hands dries out the skin. This is what the doctor recommended.

Worse are the users that have router IP adresses like 192.168.100.1

Excuse me?

The reason I don't use AMTM. 🤨

This device doesn't need company involvement. I like my long IP though and will fight for it! 🥷

@Viktor Jaep knows how I protect my private IPs. 😅

Don't tell anyone, but @Tech9 has figured out how to use a private 192.168.x IP address for his WAN IP! A total complete haX0r!

One more comment and you'll pay more for Honda parts coming from Alliston, Ontario.

No one can tax our sense of humor, that's for sure... 🍻

Just a little niggle. When "Scripts Update Notification" runs it's notifying me,via email, that there is a Merlin firmware update. There isn't. It's only this script picking it up, not amtm's update check option "u". Seems the 3006 version is not detected correctly. Not enough to stop using the script or break anything else though.
Code:
Hey there!

Available amtm script updates:
- Asuswrt-Merlin release avail. 102.3.0
- scribe 3.2.1 <- 3.2.0
- ntpMerlin 3.4.6 <- 3.4.5
- spdMerlin 4.4.6 <- 4.4.5
- uiScribe 1.4.6 <- 1.4.5
- YazDHCP 1.0.7 <- 1.0.6

Very truly yours,
Your BE88U router (Model type RT-BE88U)

I've noticed the same thing and even discussed it with @visortgw once.
He does not have this behavior to what I understand. Made me think I would reset AMTM at some point but haven't got around to it.

Here is one of my emails:

Exactly the same it appears. This is happening less than 24hrs after a reset/rebuild so I don't think a reset of amtm would fix it for you. Is @visortgw running BE hardware (my memory can be shocking)?

Yeah he's running the GT-BE98 Pro as well.

Good to know you've already tried the reset. It's the reason I didn't report anything yet, I just compared to @visortgw and figured it was a "me" issue and didn't get around to it yet.

Maybe I'll poke a little deeper tomorrow unless @thelonelycoder has any feedback of course, which is always greatly appreciated :)

It's the same check.
To be frank, with MerlinAU doing a better job and the current state of the GT-BE Pro and non-Pro firmware release cycle I'm dropping the firmware update check function in amtm. I cannot test it properly with the only GT-BE router available in Switzerland and I am already sick of that router.

amtm will only check for script updates starting with the next release.

I don't currently have the Scripts Update Notification installed since I have so many non-baselined scripts running due to changes to that have been made by @Martinski and others for compatibility with the "BE" routers.

amtm 5.2 is now available
What's new

  • There will no longer be update notifications when the installed script version is higher than the current released version. However, the u update check function will show the discrepancy temporarily just as before this change.
  • The router firmware update check has been removed within amtm, use MerlinAU instead.

You can reactivate that option, you will not be bothered again with downgrade notifications.
