amtm color combination

Hi,

I hope I'm writing in the right place. I have a problem with the color composition of amtm, displaying the Diversion log e.g. unreadable due to lack of contrast color choice. I don't know how to change this, a constant green/black color profile would be better, which might not be the prettiest, it might not be the most versatile, but at least it would be legible.

thanks, not yet - I just looked at it, but all the color combinations include red text, which is unreadable on a black background (or the 12 is a homogeneous gray, and the text there is dark gray, which is also difficult to read against a black background). It should be something like this, which is contrasting - yellow text, black background, or green text on a black background, etc. Red is a bad choice for a text color.

When I played with AMTM some time ago my color scheme of choice was 9.

With this one I can see the text pretty well on a monitor with 50% brightness.

I tried, but the red text on the black background is completely unreadable for me, even on a monitor, but especially on a phone.
This should be solved with freely selectable colors from a menu, because what is still readable to one person may be completely indistinguishable to another.

I understand we perhaps have different vision, but there is no red in color option 9 - there is orange. Try using 11 - it's all white text.

Unfortunately, the text is red for me here too (the 9 is indeed orange, but it's still not readable - 'highlighted' has a rather peculiar meaning in this context).

It would be better if you stated what your medical disability is and what colors (maybe by color code number) would work for you.

I'm a very mild colorblind person, but that's not the problem, it's the very low contrast ratio caused by the red text/black background combo. You simply can't read a logo in detail with a display with that contrast ratio.

Those were the days: Diversion 4.1.0 was released on May 16 2019 and amtm 2.2 got out on May 14 2019.

Oh I do update AMTM regularly when ever I see it's been updated...

Fortunatly my eye sight hasn't gotten too bad, so the default theme works for me.

I see your predicament. The colors in the Dnsmasq log are hardcoded and tied to the theme color.
The theme name and colors themselves are the same for amtm and Diversion. While I can easily add a new scheme in Diversion this is not so simple with amtm as its themes come with the firmware and require more effort from my side.

I’ll get an update out for Diversion as soon as I have time for the colors in the log file.
You might want to try a different background color for your terminal. I use black as it has more contrast than white to my eyes. See my website https://diversion.ch/diversion/use/theme-colors.html

thanks, I appreciate your effort! It's not really urgent, I only encounter the problem when I want to monitor the output of dnsmasq.log for debugging purposes.
