I purchased some Foscam FI8910W wireless -n IP cameras and I wondered if there were any issues or hurdles to overcome when setting them up with this router I'd really like to hear about it so I can get a smooth setup. I'll be running 4 cameras wirelessly, all within roughly 30ft of the router indoors passing through a few walls and floors here and there.

One of the reason I chose this router is because of the USB ftp server - I plan on hooking up a 500gb USB drive so that when "events" are picked up on the camera it will automatically ftp the event to the server/hdd connected to the router.

Thanks for any tips.

well, I got the router setup with no issues (is running .112 from factory) - been up and running for 8 days now managing traffic for 4 iPhones, 1 iPad, 1 Macbook Pro, 1 iMac - also it's managing 8 IP cameras 24/7 (served locally and via internet using the router's port forwarding settings) as well as an FTP server attached to it's USB port. So far all I can say is this thing is working flawlessly and was an absolute joy to setup. And the range is phenomenal, 5g penetrates my entire home. Happy camper so far.

Hi m8, I'm glad I found your post as I was thinking about getting this router for the same reasons. I have 3 x Foscams in the UK but also 5 x in the Philippines....will I be able to have those cameras send FTP images to this router in the UK?

Also is it easy to check the images as in navigation etc also can you make each camera send to a specific folder so it not all jumbled up...also on iphone or ipad?

Thank you:)

as well as an FTP server attached to it's USB port. .

Just read that again...does it need another piece of kit Id need to buy and attach by usb to enable FTP or is that built into the Router? I was thinking its a router with built in FTP server and Id just have to attach a ext 2.5 HDD for the camera FTP images to go to??

Thank you:)

I had the same ip camera. Why don't you just have it (picture/video) email it to you?

I've been down that road for the last 5 years and its unreliable....all the email providers occasionally see it as spam and put a spanner into the works, that's a problem as I have to wait until I next go on vacation to fix things plus video from 8 cameras via email!!???. FTP is the way to go. Thanks anyway:)
