Anyway to force set the speed of LAN?

Hi guys,
I would like to like is there anyway to setup force 10Gbps speed on merlin firmware on the ASUS RT-BE88U? I knew that CAT5E can ran 10G but I just determined at 1G on mine, anyway to do that?

Cat 5E is rated only for 1GBps, you need Cat 6 (or 6A).

FWIW, the days of overriding negotiated ether speeds is long over - the old 10/100 issues are gone. The negotiation protocols are much more robust and if it says you can only get 1Gbps, then that's all your cable can do.

CAT 5e is rated at 1 GB at 100 meters cable length. 10 GB at 45 meters cable length. But there are other factors that can limit cable bandwidth and performance. Improperly terminated cable ends for one.

Yeah, I have checked the cable with another computer with intel X540 and it can achieve 10G, but in Be88u doing mesh to be88u won't work, I dont't know why

How are you checking/ measuring? I vaguely recall some poster recently who got an interim FW update from ASUS who held their hand up and said the router was just reporting the speed incorrectly in the display I.e. the speeds were correct.

What do you get when you run Asus firmware on the router and node?

QOS has nothing to do with backhaul bandwidth..
You’re correct; missed the LAN comment in the subject, apologies.

Firmware is unrelated. Forcing higher speed when auto negotiation at that speed fails is not a good idea anyway.

On this page told that asus firmwawre has hidden some setting

This thread is about settings now available anymore and unrelated to ports speed.
