Greeting fellas-Hope I could get some help. I've had my mesh network up and running for almost a month now and it's been pretty stable and rock solid until last night....

I noticed that my phone would not connect to my wifi on either 2Ghz or 5Ghz. I can see the SSID's but when I try to connect it says unable to join. Verified this on my laptop as well

I have 2 86U's, one is main router and the other a mesh node. The 3rd router is my old 3100 that I also use as a mesh node downstairs. The second 86U is connected via wired backhaul and my 3100 is connected wirelessly.

I realized there is an issue with the main 86U's wireless system as wired Ethernet works fine. Also, the main 86U sees the other 86U as it is connected via wire but it lost connection with the 3100 as they were connected wirelessly.

I have noticed also that the activity lights on the main 86U for the wireless bands do not light up. The other lights for power and wired Ethernet light up fine. I have power cycled, rebooted from the Asus app but still no joy.

I guess I could factory reset the router and try again. Should I just return it to Frys and swap for a new one? Both 86U's were purchased 3 weeks ago from there. The 86U mesh node seems to be working fine.

EDIT- I just figured it out.... I went into the router wireless setting under the professional tab. Both 2.4 and 5 GHZ radios were disabled. I did not do this. I enabled and all is working again. Anyone know how and why this happened??? I wasn't hacked was I? I have the router firewall enabled as well as I run Nortons on all my systems....

There's a physical switch on the router to enable/disable radios. maybe you accidentally pressed it.

Really? For the 86U's? I just thought there was a LED activity light button and reset button. Thanks though Merlin, I will check it. I probably did though, as I was swapping Ethernet connectors yesterday on the back of the router

Thanks Merlin. I didn't see the buttons on the side....DUH.. Already changed al my passwords as I though I was Hacked by the FBI or something.... o_O

If they had, they would have turned it ON, not off, for easier access. ;)
