Is the AC1900 as featured by Best Buy that much better with faster processor, 1400Mhz. compared RT68U with 1000Mhz processor or makes no never mind in most real world situations?

RT-AC68U has a 800MHz, RT-AC68P a 1000MHz, RT-AC1900P has a 1.4 GHz

Some rt-ac68u have a 1ghz cpu. Mine does. There is a sticky in the asus subforum.

@tyreman If your router is CPU limited then the faster processor will improve matters proportionally. This is usually the case if you are using a VPN over a fast connection. Or you have a very fast (i.e. gigabit) connection and can't use hardware acceleration.

I am wondering the same thing is there a large difference from the 1ghz dual core to the 1.4ghz dual core ? . Is it a big disadvantage ?. I am looking to buy two, right now until Friday I can get the rtac68u Ver c1 for 119.99 or I will hold off and wait and get the bestbuy ac1900p or catch the rtac88u on sale again . I will need two to cover my whole house one setup as a wired access point .

Performance of both RT-AC1900p and RT-AC68U are very close. When both are sold at same price, I would buy the AC1900p.
It would be nice to see a comparison test, but as far as I known, nobody tested them side-by-side yet!?

Between a AC1900 and AC1900P, the CPU is just a different revision. I wonder if AC1900 safely OCs to 1.4ghz without any hastle. I had one at 1.2ghz and it barely got warm so my guess is yes.
