Asus AC87u dropping out

My RT-AC87R dropped 5GHz in *Access Point Only* mode, which means the problem persists even without any NAT or firewall features at all! Inside the network, the ISP becomes irrelevant, yet it still crashes. It all seems to come down to Quantenna, sorry to say.
If you are not on 9xxx firmware try upgrading. This has fixed all 5ghz radio crashes for me.

If you haven't done so yet, try disabling NAT acceleration. There's a few ISPs that don't seem to work too well with it, and causes random crashes.
Now there is something I never thought of trying, PlayStation network require NAT2 or better to function properly, the lock ups only happen when I play the PlayStation, you may well be onto something there.

Have just disabled it so I will see how things go over the next few days or so before I start updating firmware and other things. Would like to pinpoint this crash as to exactly what's causing it.

Ok so I decided to replace my vdsl modem supplied by my isp to see if this was the problem. Now the modem supplied by my isp is a huawei 612 and is locked down so you can't access it, so I bought an unlocked version where I could have full control and also look at my dsl stats.
Any how plugged everything back in, Internet up and running, checking over router settings and done a reboot from the gui. Now when the router page pops back up it is saying there is an IP conflict, low and behold nothing in the house could connect to the Internet although still connected to the router. This got me thinking now I could configure my vdsl modem I would check to see what IP it was set to, it was 192.168.1.1 the same as my AC87....
Apparently this is the default IP address for these modems, so now I wondering if all those problems were because of an IP conflict between the router and vdsl modem?
I have since set up IP address on router to 192.168.2.1 and kept the modem on 192.168.1.1 also turned off dhcp server on modem and set a subnet of 255.255.0.0 on both so I can still access the modem on my home network.
Since doing so I have had no more problems.

Forget I even spoke, I think I must jinx this thing every time I have uptime for more than 4 days and decide to write about what I have done on the forum.

3 router crashes since yesterday. Something else I have noticed is that when the crashes occur the 2.4 ghz light is no longer lit on the router and the 5ghz light flashes slowly but steady, just on and off with a 1 second delay between.
