Asus AX86U poor WAN speeds

As expected with the WAN port connected to the Virgin Hub I get 940mb/s download speed with a wired PC. If I change the WAN configuration to use the 2.5GB port, I still get 940mb/s on a speed test to the wired PC, due to the speed limit on the 1GB LAN ports.

Your router must be defective too...

You can actually see >Gigabit aggregate traffic when using 2.5GbE port for WAN and Wi-Fi + LAN at the same time. Also if you push 160MHz wide channel to 160MHz capable client. Common 2-stream client will have 2400Mbps link speed with up to 1.7Gbps throughput. Close to the router, of course.

If you're having issues with your WAN port you can try to use Lan port as Wan.
