New Around Here
Hi all,
Just a question I hope you people can help me with.

In the last 3-4 months I have experienced several times that my mesh node ax7800 spontaneously disappears.
I have 2 of these nodes in my network. Since the last firmware update it seemed as if there had been a change in the assignment of the LAN/WAN port(s). Wired devices suddenly stop working.

But what I think is the worst problem ,that is that nodes disappear from the network without any warning. No notification of please note that the access point is no longer available or there is a problem. Just gone, and the lack of network monitoring (non existent).

This also gives an unsafe feeling because ASUS also advertises that their networking is so secure that you even receive a notification when an unknown Mac address is added to your network.
That's all nice, but if the failure of part of the network is not even detected, that is much worse.
Now today one of the 2 AXE7800 nodes is gone again, and 1 light still responds (power).
Hard reset WPS has now been done, nothing works.
The AP is 1 1/2 years old, so I think I'll send it back for repair.
But before I do this, anyone have any tips?
And are there more people with the spontaneous disappearance of mesh points? Feels quite unreliable to me, especially because there is no detection.

Obviously this device has a serious issue, get RMA and send it back for repair/replacement.

Had comparable problem a while ago , then the only solution was a factory reset (brought him back alive) and add the again.

What bothers me the most is that there is no detection from main router whatsoever, the AP is just gone/deleted as if it’s never been there. Very strange.:(
(Packed it to be send back tomorrow).

I came across a few AXE7800 lately (4pcs if im correct, the fifth one just had a user, who tried to power the router via the USB port...) all four had faulty MXIC flash with abnormal amount of bad blocks. I have same experiences with older models, with the same flash memory, same behavior: only power LED.
But the strange part in your case is what you said about the missing node on the router not shows up at all. Usually it grays out, shows that it is offline. But that flash issue can throw all sorts of problems for sure.
